Your Accessibility Guide to the University of Northampton is now live!

One of the few universities to be ranked Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework becomes the latest of over 85 higher education providers across the UK to partner with AccessAble; the UK’s leading provider of detailed disabled access information.

The University of Northampton has worked with AccessAble to create Detailed Access Guides to over 200 teaching/meeting spaces and routes across campus.

The Guides are 100 per cent facts, figures, and photographs to help students, visitors and staff plan their journey to and around the university, covering everything from parking facilities and hearing loops, to walking distances and accessible toilets.

We know everyone’s accessibility needs are different, which is why having detailed, accurate information is so important. It’s why all of the details you’ll find in the Guide have been checked in person, on site, by trained surveyors.

Dr Gregory Burke, Founder and Chairman of AccessAble, said:

‘We are delighted to partner with the University of Northampton to launch Detailed Access Guides University’s buildings, ensuring that vital, in-depth access information is available for disabled students, visitors and staff.

Our partnership demonstrates how crucial accessibility is to improving student experience via the provision of information, as well as reviewing the physical environment to ensure high standards of accessibility.’

Becky Bradshaw, Director of Estates & Campus Services at the University of Northampton, said:

‘The University of Northampton is committed to providing a vibrant, ethical and sustainable work, study and living environment that values equality, diversity and inclusion. We are pleased to be working with AccessAble to identify improvements we may need to make to ensure our environments are as accessible as possible whilst also providing genuine practical support to students, visitors and staff through publication of our professionally-assessed Access Guides.’
