Access Guide
Getting To (Patient Travel)
- Patient Travel is/are located on the Victorian corridor, on level 2 of the hospital.
- Access to Patient Travel is via the main entrance.
- After entering the hospital via the main entrance, proceed straight ahead past the main reception desk and continue until you reach the escalators.
Turn right into the lift lobby.
Take the lift to level 2, exit the lift and turn left into the long corridor.
Continue along the corridor, then take the first corridor on the right. This is the entrance to the Old Victorian corridor.
At the end of this corridor turn right.
Continue along the corridor and Patient Travel is located on the left. - There is step free access, via lift, to Patient Travel.
- Patient Travel is approximately 140m from the lift.
- There are not resting areas along the route.
- Wayfinding signage is provided.
- Dementia friendly signage is not provided.
- There is some flooring in corridors which is shiny and could cause issues with glare or look slippery to some people.
- There is some flooring in corridors which includes patterns or colours which could be confusing or look like steps or holes to some people.
Parking (Main Entrance - Blue Badge Parking and Drop-Off)

Lift (Lifts A - RVH 14-15)
- The lift surveyed is located ahead and to the right after entering through the Main Entrance.
- The distance from the Main Entrance is 56m.
- The most accessible route to the lift has step-free level access and doors permanently held open.
- Levels 0 to 7 are accessed by this lift.
- The lift door has a medium visual contrast.
- The lift has a level manoeuvring space in front of it for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- The external lift control buttons have tactile markings, Braille markings and a high visual contrast.
