About Britannia Leisure Centre

The new Britannia Leisure Centre was opened in June 2021 as part of Hackney Council’s investment into the local area. In June 2022, the centre was awarded New Concept, Design or Build of the Year at the UK Active awards. The centre features state of the art swimming facilities with two 25 metre pools , a health suite (sauna and steam) and a leisure water area, complete with a flume and splash deck.  For those looking to take part in sport , the centre also has a six badminton court sports hall, squash courts and tennis/football pitches on the roof, with great views of the city. The centre also has a large gym, with a range of equipment to suit beginners and experts as well as five studios that hold a range of different exercise classes. To help parents with young children, the centre has a soft play area as well as a crèche. Overlooking Shoreditch Park, the café is also a great spot to relax with a coffee and cake or a healthy lunch option.
