Overview

Entrance (Minworth Greaves Hall)

  • This entrance is located at the front of Minworth Greaves Hall, opposite the manor building.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There is a single manual door at this entrance.
  • The door is permanently held open.
  • The width of the opening is 102cm.

Ticketing (Museum Tickets)

  • Ticket Counter / Machines View
    • The ticket counter surveyed is located to your right as you enter the Minworth Greaves building.
    • There is step-free level access to the counter.
    • The height of the counter is 90cm.
    • There is not a lowered section at the counter.
    • There is not a hearing assistance system.

Access To (the Toilet with Adaptations)

  • The toilet block is located to the rear of the Minworth Greaves building.
    Exit the building and turn left along the path.
    Follow the path to the toilet block and turn right along the front of the toilet block.
    The toilet with adaptations is on the right hand side of the building.
  • The journey time from the Minworth Greaves building is approximately approximately 2 minutes.
  • The most accessible route has step-free level access.

Toilet with Adaptations (Left Hand Transfer)

  • Location and Access View
    • The toilet surveyed is located on the right hand side of the toilet block.
    • The most accessible route to the toilet has step-free level access.
    • There is step-free level access into the facility.
    • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
    • The door opens outwards.
    • The width of the door opening is 81cm.
    • The door has a lever twist lock.
  • Dimensions and Features View
    • There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
    • There is a lateral transfer space to the left as you face the toilet, however it is obstructed.
    • The lateral transfer space is 90cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
    • There is a spatula flush on the non-transfer side.
    • There is a horizontal grab rail on the non-transfer side.
    • There is a vertical grab rail on the transfer side.
    • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
    • The toilet seat is 48cm from the floor.
    • There is a wall mounted toilet roll holder, a wash basin, a wall mounted soap dispenser and a hand dryer available.
    • The wash basin has a lever mixer tap.
    • The vertical grab rails are on both sides of the wash basin.
    • There is a pull cord emergency alarm within 10cm from the floor.

    • Additional features include: a mirror and a baby changing table.

Entrance (Selly Manor Museum Accessible Entrance)

  • This entrance is located at the back of the Selly Manor Museum building.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There is a single manual door at this entrance.
  • The door opens away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 96cm.
  • A member of staff will need to open this door from the inside for level access into the Selly Manor Museum building.

Exhibition Space (Selly Manor Museum)

  • The museum is indoors.
  • The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: the dining room , the parlour.
  • The following areas have stepped access: the bedrooms on the first floor and the attic.
  • Access throughout may include uneven surfaces.
  • There is some room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
  • The following may be experienced here: strong smells.
  • There is background noise in some areas.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system.
  • Seating available in this area includes: chairs without armrests.
  • The tour is self-guided but volunteers/staff are available to provide additional information.
  • Access throughout the tour may include uneven surfaces and manual doors.
  • There is an interactive screen player with information on the rooms on the first floor.
