Access Guide
Introduction
- The following information describes the route from Falmer Train Station to the American Express Community Stadium
- The approximate distance of this route is 40m-100m, depending on what platform you exit (1 or 2)
- The potential hazards on this route include; congested pathways.
- Photograph 1 shows the train routes.
- Photograph 2 shows the stadium map.
Falmer Train Station
- There is step-free access from both platforms at Falmer Station.
- There is an accessible toilet available on platform 2.
- There is a slight slope leading up from platform 2 to the station bridge.
- There is step-free access from platform 1, on to the path leading to the outer concourse.
Falmer Station Platform 1 to the Outer Concourse
- After exiting platform 1, turn left and follow the path straight ahead for approximately 100m util you reach the outer concourse.
- The surface of the path is tarmac.
- There is a slight slope on the path.
- The route joins the outer concourse outside the North Stand.
- There is step-free access onto the outer concourse.
Falmer Station Platform 2 to the Outer Concourse
- There is a very slight ramp leading down from the train station bridge.
- The slope has handrails on both sides.
- After the slope follow the path straight ahead for approximately 40m until you reach the outer concourse.
- The surface of the path is tarmac.
- There is a slight slope on the path.
- The route joins the outer concourse outside the North Stand.
Outer Concourse
- There is step-free access throughout the outer concourse.
There are some slight slopes in places along the concourse.
The surface of the outer concourse is tarmac. - There are a number of food and drink stands located around the outer concourse.
There is a band stand located on the north-east corner of the outer concourse, this area acts as the Fanzone on matchdays.
There are programmes stands located at regular intervals around the concourse.
There are merchandise stalls located outside the North and South Stands. - There are 15+ steps at the corner of the West and North Stands. These steps are overcome by using a long ramp with a very slight gradient.
- Clear directional signage is provided on the concourse.
- There is a stadium plan/map on the concourse.
- There is a steward/member of staff available for assistance on match days.
