Introduction

Route from Security

  • Depending on which security checkpoint you are located at, World Duty Free will be located to the right or straight ahead.
  • When facing World Duty Free there is a corridor on the left hand side just before the entrance.
  • Follow the corridor to the end (approximately 10m).
  • At the end of the corridor there is a lift and stairs which lead up to the mezzanine level.
  • Take the lift to the mezzanine level.
  • Exit the Security lift and turn left towards the Aspire Lounge.
  • Just before you reach the Aspire Lounge entrance turn right onto the wooden surface.
  • Follow the wooden surface straight ahead to the end.
  • Turn right when you reach the end of the wooden surface.
  • Gates 8-16 will be on the left hand side.
  • The Gates 8-16 entrance is approximately 38m from the Security lift.
  • There is level access.

Outside Access (Gates 8-16 Entrance)

  • This information is for the entrance located towards the rear of the mezzanine, on the right hand side.
  • There is not level access into the venue.
  • There are no doors at this entrance.
  • Second set of doors View
    • There is a second set of doors.
    • The door(s) open away from you (push).
    • The doors are double width.
    • The door(s) is / are heavy.
    • The door opening is 139cm (4ft 7in) wide.

Level Change (Gates 8-16 Entrance)

  • There is a ramp or slope to access this service.
  • The ramp or slope is located in between the first and second set of doors.
  • The ramp or slope is moderate.
  • The ramp or slope is permanent.
  • There is a level landing at the top of the ramp.
  • Comments View
    • After entering through the first entrance, there are 3 moderate slopes with handrails on both sides leading up to the second set of doors.

Inside Access

  • There is not level access to the service.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system.
  • This venue does not play background music.
  • The lighting levels are varied.
  • The type of flooring in walkways and corridors is carpet and tiles.
  • Comments View
    • Gate 16 is 450m from the main entrance.
    • Immediately after the second set of doors at the main entrance, OCS leave a number of wheelchairs for passengers to use if they feel the distance to their gate is too far for them to walk.
    • Passengers do not need permission to use the wheelchairs.
    • The wheelchairs can be left outside any of Gates 8-16 and OCS will collect them at a later time.
    • After entering through the second set of doors at the main entrance, when turning right there are two sets of automatic doors, and a number of manual, double width doors that are permanently held open up until Gate 16.
    • There is fixed seating available throughout the walkway / corridor.

Level Changes

  • There are a number of level changes throughout the walkway / corridor.
  • At Gate 10 there is a moderate slope going up, with handrails on both sides.
  • Immediately after Gate 11 there is a moderate slope going up, with handrails on both sides.
  • When approaching Gate 12 there are 4 moderate slopes going down, with handrails on both sides and a level landing between each one.

Gates 8-16

  • Gates 8-16 all have similar staircases leading down to the boarding areas.
  • Only Gate 10 has a lift leading down to the boarding area.
  • Some of the gates have more fixed seating available than others.
  • Most of the boarding areas have priority seating available at the front, closest to the exit.
  • The gates that are not accessible via the walkway / corridor can be overcome using alternative routes.
  • Alternative routes would be via OCS at the Special Assistance Point.

Outside Access (Gate 10)

  • This information is for the entrance located on the first floor, straight ahead when exiting the lift.
  • There is level access into the venue.
  • The main door(s) open away from you (push).
  • The doors are double width.
  • The door(s) is / are light.
  • The door opening is 165cm (5ft 5in) wide.

Gate 10 Boarding Area

  • There is priority seating at the front of the boarding area, closest to the exit.
  • There is fixed seating available in Gate 10.
  • Some of the fixed seating areas have plug sockets next to them for passengers to use.
  • Some of the fixed seating areas have tables next to them.
  • The height of the tables are 47cm.
