Overview

Getting Inside

  • There is uneven paving on approach to the building.
  • Tower B has two entrances.
  • The front entrance provides step-free access, via a steep ramp.
  • The rear entrance provides stepped access from the Campus Car Park. Both entrances provide access to the lobby area on the ground floor.
  • The main entrance at the front of the building is signed as Tower B, the rear entrance is not signed.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access throughout the building on all floors.
  • There is a steep ramp to access the lift with a width between 75cm and 150cm and a handrail on the left going up.
  • The ramp bypasses a set of four steps.
  • Due to RAAC Construction the majority of the ground floor is not in use within the building and is not accessible.
  • Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth, with some having a shiny finish.
  • The resting area lobby areas in the ground floor lobby with a mixture of seating.
  • Overhead and wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building.
  • There are maps available which include the areas of the building that are inaccessible due to RAAC construction in this Tower and Tower A.

Campus Car Park

Entrance (Main)

  • The ramp gradient varies between slight and steep.
  • The ramp is over 150cm wide with no handrails.

  • The handrail is easy to grip.
  • The handrail covers the flight of stairs throughout its length.
  • The steps are clearly marked.
  • The height of the steps is between 15cm and 18cm.
