Introduction

  • Services / facilities within the building include student accommodation.
  • West Hall is located to the north west side of the campus within the Isambard Complex.
    The Isambard Complex is accessed by Topping Lane off Cleveland Road or Isambard Close via Station Road. However, at the time of survey (March 2022), access to the accommodation / Topping Lane was via Isambard Close as the entrance to Topping Lane (off Cleveland Road) was blocked / closed due to a Covid-19 testing centre.
    There are barriers by the Isambard Close campus entrance off Station Road with key card readers 105cm high and an intercom 120cm high.
    There are further barriers on Topping Lane, however these were kept permanently open at the time of survey (March 2022). The key card reader is 92cm high and the intercom is 109cm high.
  • The closest launderette is located close to the entrance for Central Hall, approximately 50 metres from West Hall.
    The Concourse Hall reception is located at the end of the central pedestrianised promenade through campus, approximately 110 metres from West Hall (via an accessible route).

Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • From the M25, turn off at junction 16 onto the M40 and follow this road onto the A40.
      Continue along the A40 until you reach a roundabout and turn right onto the B483 and follow this to the end and turn left onto Hillingdon Road.
      Then, following signs for Brunel University, turn left onto Kingston Lane.
    • There are site/campus car parks available on the university campus that require a permit or are pay and display. Blue Badge holders can park for free.
  • By Bus View
    • There are several buses that run to Brunel University with a bus stop right outside the entrance to the university. The bus services that run are the U1, U2, U4, U5, U7, A10 and the 222.
  • By Train View
    • The nearest train station is West Drayton which is approximately a 15 minute journey from Brunel University. From the station, U3, U5 or 222 buses or a taxi can take you to the university.
  • By Underground View
    • The nearest underground station is Uxbridge Station which is approximately a 10 minute journey via the U1, U3, U4 or U7 bus services or taxi.

Building Parking

  • The building does have its own dedicated parking.

      The bays have marked areas to one side and the front. The areas to the sides are 120cm wide, whilst the marked areas to the front are 70cm wide.
      They may be difficult to define for somebody with a visual impairment as they are only marked by patterned brick paving (photograph 5).

    • There is a site/campus car park for staff, students and visitors within approximately 200m.

    • There is a dropped kerb to the pavement with a slight gradient by the bay (photograph 3).
    • The other 3 Blue Badge bays (photographs 4-6) are between the Galbraith and Fleming Halls with marked areas approximately 120cm wide.
    • There is a steep slope up to pavement level on the road by the 3 bays (photograph 7).
