Burnley Bus Station

Burnley Bus Station to Red Lion Street and Centenary Way Crossings

  • Upon exiting the bus station, bare left and continue ahead for approximately 20 metres towards the Red Lion Street and Centenary Way crossings.

  • The path is mostly even with a slight down hill gradient.

Red Lion Street and Centenary Way Crossings

  • This area consists of 4 crossing points with 3 central islands between them.
  • The first crossing point has dropped kerbs and tactile paving available on both sides.
  • The road surface at the first crossing point is cambered.
  • The first central island consists of flagstone paving.
  • The first central island is level and even.
  • The second, third and fourth crossing points are similar to the first.
  • The second and third central islands are similar to the first with the exception being that the second is slightly wider.
  • The road surface consists of tarmac at all of the crossing points.
  • Visual indicators activated by push buttons are available at all 4 crossing points.
  • The controls are between the heights of 95cm and 105cm.

Red Lion Street and Centenary Way Crossings to Yorkshire Street

  • Having crossed, turn left and continue ahead along Centenary Way for approximately 230 metres towards Yorkshire Street.
  • The path along this section of the route consists of flagstone paving.
  • The path is mostly even with some uneven areas in places.
  • The path has a slight uphill gradient throughout.
  • The path narrows to as little as 130cm in places due to signal boxes and road signage posts.
  • After approximately 120 metres, cross over the car park access road.

  • Having crossed, continue ahead for the remaining 100 metres towards Yorkshire Street.

Yorkshire Street to Plumbe Street Crossing

  • Having reached Yorkshire Street, continue ahead for approximately 130 metres towards Plumbe Street Crossing.
  • The path along this section of the route consists of block paving and tarmac.
  • The path is mostly even with slight downhill/uphill gradients throughout.
  • After approximately 15 metres, cross over the car park access road.
  • The access road crossing has dropped kerbs available on both sides with no tactile paving.

  • Having crossed, continue along Yorkshire Street for a further 50 metres towards a second access road crossing.
  • This crossing is similar to the previous crossing described above.

  • Having completed all of the crossings, continue ahead for the remaining 10 metres towards the Plumbe Street crossing.

Plumbe Street Crossing

  • This crossing has dropped kerbs available on both sides with no tactile paving.
  • The surface of the road at the crossing consists of tarmac.
  • The road surface is cambered and mostly even.
  • There are no visual/audible signals available at this crossing.

Plumbe Street Crossing to Harry Potts Way Crossing

  • Having crossed, turn left and continue ahead along Yorkshire Street for approximately 165 metres towards the Harry Potts Way crossing.
  • The path along this section of the route consists of tarmac.
  • The path is mostly even with slight gradients in places.
  • After approximately 135 metres, cross over Todmorden Road.
  • The road consists of two crossing points with a central island between them.
  • The first crossing point has dropped kerbs available on both sides with no tactile paving.
  • The first crossing point is cambered.
  • The central island consists of tarmac and is level.
  • The second crossing point is similar to the first.
  • The road surface consists of tarmac at both crossing points.

  • Having crossed, turn left and continue ahead for the remaining 10 metres towards the Harry Potts Way crossing.

Harry Potts Way Crossing

  • This crossing has dropped kerbs and tactile paving available on both sides.
  • The road surface at the crossing consists of tarmac.
  • The road is cambered and even.
  • There are visual indicators available at this crossing.
  • The visual signals are activated via push buttons. These are between the heights of 95cm and 105cm.
  • There are rotating cones located at the base of the push button boxes to indicate when it is safe to cross.

Harry Potts Way Crossing to the Outer Concourse (Bob Lord Stand)

  • Having crossed, turn right and continue along Harry Potts Way for approximately 30 metres towards the outer concourse of the Bob Lord Stand.
  • The path along this section of the route consists of tarmac and is level.
  • On matchdays there is a traffic exclusion zone along Harry Potts Way.

Outer Concourse

  • There is step-free access throughout the outer concourse.
    The surface of the outer concourse is tarmac.
    There is a slight slope leading from Harry Potts Way to the outer concourse area next to the Jimmy McIlroy Stand.
    There are some dropped kerbs located on Harry Potts Way and in front of the Jimmy McIlroy Stand and the James Hargreaves Stand.
  • There are food and drink stands located around the outer concourse.
    There are programme stalls located around the outer concourse.
    The Fanzone is located on the outer concourse, at the corner of the Jimmy McIlroy Stand and James Hargreaves Stand.
  • All stands can be accessed via the outer concourse.
  • On matchdays there is a traffic exclusion zone along Harry Potts Way.
    The traffic exclusion zone begins two hours before kick-off and finishes between 30-45 minutes after the final whistle (depending on the fixture).
  • Clear directional signage is provided on the concourse.

  • There is a steward/member of staff available for assistance on match days.
