Stadium Tour Information

  • Stadium tours begin at the Bob Lord Stand main reception.
  • This is a guided tour.
  • The main tour route encompasses a number of steps. If this is not suitable and you require a more accessible route, please contact the venue in advance.
  • This access guide covers the accessible route of the tour.
  • The tour guide can provide assistance with all entrance doors along the tour route.
  • There are steep slopes in places along the tour.
  • The tour guides can provide assistance with the steep ramps if needed.
  • The tour operates on Thursdays and Saturdays (non-matchdays).
  • Each tour lasts approximately 90 minutes.
  • Advance notification is required for all bookings.

  • The first accessible toilet is located within the 1882 lounge.
  • The second accessible toilet is located on the corner of the Bob Lord Stand and the Ladbrokes Stand.

Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • From the East:
      Exit the M65 at junction 12 and follow signs to 'Burnley North A682'. Proceed over two roundabouts and into Colne Road. After 1.5 miles, turn left at the lights into Casterton Avenue. After ½ mile, go straight on at another roundabout; follow signs for 'Rochdale A6114', into Eastern Avenue. After 1.5 miles, you will be on Belvedere Road and the stadium is there.
      From the West:
      Exit the M65 motorway at junction 9 (Signposted Halifax A679) and turn right at the first roundabout, over the motorway. Go to the second roundabout and take a left, still following signs for Halifax and onto Accrington Road. After ¾ of a mile, go right at the traffic lights into Rossendale Road. Follow for another 1.5 miles and then go straight on through the traffic lights into Glen View Road. After another mile, turn left into Todmorden Road, where you will find Turf Moor at the foot of the hill.
      From the North and South:
      Exit the M6 at Junction 29 and onto the M65. Exit the M65 at junction 10 and follow signs for 'Towneley Hall'. This road eventually goes past Turf Moor.
    • There are 2 car parks at Turf Moor, both are situated off Harry Potts Way; Harry Potts Way Car Park and North East Car Park.
      Away Supporters - Most of the surrounding streets have parking restrictions on a matchday (Saturday and Tuesday), so it is advisable for away supporters to use the adjoining cricket club (charges may apply), or the following car parks; Woodgrove Car Park, Millennium NCP Car Park (Brown Street), Deanmill Car Park (Plumb Street), Aircelle Ltd Car Park (Bancroft Avenue).
  • By Bus View
    • There is a bus stop within 150 metres of the stadium.
    • There is a bus stop directly outside the Bob Lord Stand, giving direct access to the outer concourse (Harry Potts Way).
      From Burnley Bus Station
      Burnley Bus Station is a short walk from the stadium, just off Centenary Way. From here leave the station and head towards the Gala Bingo Hall opposite. Use the underground footpath and then head under the aqueduct onto Yorkshire Street and follow until it becomes Harry Potts Way. The ground is on your left hand side.

  • By Train View

Parking

  • There are designated Blue Badge parking bays available in the North East Car Park.
  • This car park is located outside of the Jimmy McIlroy Stand.
  • Please contact the venue in advance if you wish to use the designated Blue Badge parking bays.

  • On-street parking is available along Harry Potts Way.
  • There are parking restrictions in place between 6pm - 10pm on Tuesdays and between 1pm - 6pm on Saturdays.

Outside Access (Main Entrance)

1882 Lounge to Brian Miller Suite

  • Following the talk in the 1882 Lounge, head back through the 2 double doors you used to enter the lounge and back into the Bob Lord Stand main reception foyer.
  • Once in the foyer head to the first floor.
  • Access to the first floor is via stairs or lift.
  • There is both carpet and vinyl/laminate flooring along this section of the tour.
  • The Brian Miller Suite is located directly ahead of you as you exit the lift.
  • There is step-free access to this suite.
  • There is a single, heavy manual door to access this suite.
  • The door opening width is 69cm.

Other Floors

    • Stairs can be used to access other floors.
    • The stairs are for public use.
    • The stairs are located to the right as you enter the accessible entrance.

  • Once in the Lounge there is a 10 minute talk about the history of the club and Brian Miller.
  • There are chairs with no armrests in the room which can be used during the talk.

Brian Miller Lounge to Dr Iven Suite (Trophy Room)

  • Following the talk in the Brian Miller Suite, exit and turn left towards the double doors next to the stairs.
  • These doors have an opening width of 135cm.
  • Once through the doors turn left and head along the corridor towards the Dr Iven Suite.
  • The corridor is narrow and has a width of 117cm.
  • There is vinyl/laminate and carpet flooring along this section of the route.
  • The doors leading into the suite have an opening width of 140cm.
  • There is step-free access to this suite.

Dr Iven Suite (Trophy Room)

  • Having entered the suite, turn left and head towards the trophy cabinet.
  • There is step-free access within this area.
  • There is not ample room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre.
  • The type of flooring in this area is carpet and vinyl/laminate.
  • There is some flooring which is shiny and could cause issues with glare or look slippery to some people.
  • The lighting levels are good.
  • At this stage of the tour there is short 5-10 minute talk about the contents of the trophy cabinet.
  • There is a second cabinet located to the rear of the room.
  • There are chairs with no armrests in the room which can be used during the talk.

Dr Iven Suite (Trophy Room) to Pitchside

  • Following the talk in the Dr Iven Suite, the tour continues back down to the main reception foyer via the lift or stairs.
  • When on the ground floor you will exit the Bob Lord Stand onto Harry Potts Way, using either the main entrance or accessible entrance.
  • When exiting turn right and continue along Harry Potts Way for approximately 70 metres towards Gate B1, located on the corner of the Ladbrokes Stand and the Bob Lord Stand.
  • When passed through the gate, the tour continues to the left towards the pitchside area.
  • There is an accessible toilet available at this stage of the tour.
  • There is a slight ramp leading down to the pitchside area.
  • There is vinyl/laminate, tarmac and concrete flooring along this section of the tour.

Accessible Toilet(s) (Ladbrokes Stand - Visiting Supporters)

Pitchside to Dugouts

  • Having finished viewing the stadium/pitchside area, the tour continues to the right along the Bob Lord Stand toward the dugouts.
  • The surface changes from concrete to rubber upon reaching to dugouts.
  • There is a slight slope leading up to the technical boxes.
  • The surface of the technical boxes is artificial grass.
  • There is seating available with no armrests if required.

Dugouts to Away Changing Room

  • When finished at the dugouts, the tour will head back towards Gate B1.
  • Once there, you will exit back through the gate and turn right towards the blue doors at the Ladbrokes Stand.
  • The single door on the right hand side has an opening width of 83cm and leads into the players and officials corridor.
  • The corridor is narrow and has a minimum width of 102cm.
  • There is a slight ramp on the corridor located immediately beyond the door.
  • There are multiple single, permanently held open doors along the corridor leading towards the changing rooms.
  • All of these doors are between 70cm and 117cm wide.
  • The tour will continue ahead along the corridor until reaching the away changing room.
  • There is concrete, vinyl and carpet flooring along this section of the route.

Away Changing Room

  • The away changing room is accessed via a single door with an opening width of 68cm.
  • There is a steep slope located immediately beyond the door leading into the changing room.
  • There is step-free access throughout the changing room.
  • There is a non-slip floor within the changing room.
  • There is padded bench seating available within the changing room.
  • At this stage of the tour there is a short talk about the away dressing room and some of the teams that have played at the stadium.
  • Following the talk, the tour will head back out onto the corridor and towards the home changing room.

Home Changing Room

  • The home changing room is accessed via a single door with an opening width of 68cm.
  • There is step-free access throughout the changing room.
  • There is a non-slip floor within the changing room.
  • There is padded bench seating available within the changing room.
  • Within the changing room there is an opening with a slight slope, leading into the physio room. The opening has a width of 70cm.
  • At this stage of the tour there is a short talk about the home dressing room and how the manager and players prepare before a game.
  • Following the talk, the tour will head back out onto the corridor and towards the players tunnel.

Players Tunnel

  • There are multiple single doors located along the corridor towards the players tunnel.
  • All of these doors are between 70cm and 117cm wide.
  • The players tunnel has 12 clearly marked steps with hand rails on both sides, leading down to the pitch.

Players Tunnel to End of Tour

  • Having finished at the players tunnel, the tour will head back along the narrow corridor and out onto Harry Potts Way where the tour will end.
  • At the end of the tour there is the option to head over to the Megastore where you can view and purchase the Burnley Football Club merchandise.
