Overview

Getting Inside

  • The approach to the building varies depending on the direction you approach from.
  • There is step-free level access to the building from Laud and Somerville (via very slight slopes).
    There is step-free access (via steep ramps/slopes) to the building from the Red Car Park, Fynden and Thorne, Ramsey, Powell, and Erasmus.
  • Invicta has one entrance, the main entrance, which provides step-free access (via a slight ramp) to the ground floor of the building.
    There is a single automatic door (activated by tapping your key card), followed by a second set of push-pad activated double automatic doors at this entrance.
  • The main entrance is signed as "Invicta".
  • The main entrance provides step-free access (via a slight ramp) to the ground floor of the building.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access throughout the building on all floors, and to all floors via lift.
  • Floor surfaces along circulation routes consist of low pile carpet.
  • There is no seating in any circulation areas of the building.
  • Wayfinding signage is not provided in the building; however each room is clearly signed with written text and numerical signage on the door.
  • There are double manual doors to enter and exit the stairwell on the first floor. Otherwise, there are not manual doors in any circulation areas of the building.

    • The toilet with adaptations is located on the ground floor, to the left and left again as you enter the building through the second set of doors at the main entrance.
    • The toilet with adaptations has a left hand transfer space.
    • The male step-free toilet facilities are located diagonally to the right as you pass through the second set of doors at the main entrance.
    • The female step-free toilet facilities are located diagonally to the left as you pass through the second set of doors at the main entrance.

  • The steps have low visual contrast markings and have handrails on both sides.
  • The handrails are easy to grip.
  • The handrails cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
