Overview

Getting Inside

  • There is level access to the ground floor entrances into the library.
    There is level access via lift to all entrances from the first floor up within the Augustine House.
  • Lifts to access the upper floors of the library are external to the library.
    In order to move between library floors step-free it is therefore necessary to exit the library use the Augustine House lifts and then re-enter the library on another floor.
  • There are multiple entrances into different library areas on each floor.
    These entrances consist of sets of double automatic doors and have step-free level access.
  • The library entrances throughout the Augustine House are signed as either Collaborative Study Zone or Silent study zone.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access throughout all floors of the library.
  • There are resting and seating areas located throughout the library.
  • There is directional signage located throughout the library.
  • There are no manual doors in the circulation areas of the library.

    • Toilets with adaptations are located within the library areas on the ground, first, second and third floors.
    • The transfer space varies between left and right in the toilets with adaptations.
    • The toilets with adaptations are also signed for use as shared toilets.
    • The male and female step-free standard toilet facilities are located in the library areas on the first, second and third floors.
  • Changing Places and Changing Facilities View
    • Parent and baby changing facilities are located within the baby room / first aid room on the ground floor.

Access To

  • The entrance to the library is off the atrium on the ground floor of Augustine House.
  • There are two similar entrances of the atrium on the ground floor.
    There are similar entrances on the first second and third floors off the central concourse to the areas of the library on other floors. .
  • The most accessible route has step-free level access and shiny flooring.
