Access Guide
Getting To (Discharge Lounge)
- The Discharge Lounge is located on the Basement Level, in a portacabin underneath the link bridge between the East Wing and the Marjory Warren Building.
- The Discharge Lounge is approximately 22m from the Marjory Warren Lifts.
- From the Blue Badge Bays, the route to the main hospital building includes slight to steep slopes and a pedestrian road crossing with dropped kerbs and tactile paving.
- Access to the Discharge Lounge is via the main hospital entrance.
- Enter via the main hospital entrance.
Continue straight down the main corridor until you reach the East Wing lift lobby.
Continue past the lift lobby and onto the link bridge towards the Marjory Warren Building.
As you enter through the automatic doors, the Marjory Warren lifts are located on the right.
Take the lift to the Basement Level.
Upon exiting the lifts, turn right and immediately left, following the signage outside towards the Discharge Lounge.
The Discharge Lounge portacabin is located on your left. - There is step free access, via lift, to Discharge Lounge.
- The most accessible route includes manual doors which may be difficult to open, manual doors which are held open and automatic doors.
- Some flooring is shiny and patterned.
- There are resting areas along the route.
- Wayfinding signage is provided.
- Dementia friendly signage is not provided.
- The following toilet facilities are available along the route; accessible toilet (with left hand transfer), toilets for ambulant disabled users and standard toilets.
