There is step-free access to The Slab. From The Slab, there is step-free access along the corridor to the PM Detectives Room. This has a glass viewing window which starts from the floor but there is a metal bar which is 110cm from the floor. There are also similar viewing windows into the rooms of Major Desmond Morton, Commander Thompson, and Deputy Security of War Cabinet Norman Brook. There are also viewing windows into Clementine Churchills Room where the viewing window starts from the floor. Along the same corridor is the Prime Minister's dining room. This has a glass viewing window which starts from the floor. At the rear of the corridor is the Chief of Staff's conference room. The viewing window begins from floor level and there is a bench seating and chairs with armrests, there is a video played with background music. There is then a long corridor with permanently held open doors with an opening width of 70cm. If the doors are too narrow they can be bypassed by using an alternative route, please speak to a member staff for more information. You will next come to The Kitchen which has a viewing window starting from the floor. There is a corridor leading to Multimedia Guide Point 9, known as 'Expanding The Site'. The first exhibit within Multimedia Guide Point 9 is the Plant Room. The view into the Plant Room is via a permanently held open door. The Plant Room is also a conference and events space. The door will be closed when there is an event taking place. Access to the Plant Room involves overcoming a 4cm step. The café is located at the end of Multimedia Guide Point 9.

Generic (Multimedia Guide Points 10-14)

• The access to Multimedia Guide Point 10 is located ahead, or to the left, after exiting the Café. There is step free access along the rest of the Multimedia Guide Tour. The narrowest width of the corridor is 75cm. There are information boards next to each Multimedia Guide Point. There is clear signage along the route. The lighting levels are low to moderate. Audio is played at Multimedia Guide Tour 10, 'Threat and Defence'. Here, there is a map of the local area, which shows key buildings. The height from the floor to the underside of the map is 69cm and the height from the floor to the surface of the map is 77cm. There are chairs with armrests available. Multimedia Guide Point 11, 'The Corridor Rooms' is located along a corridor to the left. You will first reach the BBC Broadcasting room. The viewing window starts from the floor. From here, there is a permanently held open door with an opening width of 75cm. You will then reach the Switchboard Room which is located on the left of the corridor. There is a viewing window which starts from the floor. There is then the Typing Pool which is located on the left of the corridor. There is a viewing window which starts from the floor. As you continue down the corridor, there is a doorway with no door fitted. The width of the opening is 75cm. At the left of the corridor is General Ismay’s Room. There is a viewing window which starts from the floor. Along the corridor there are also viewing windows into the Emergency Office, Sleeping Accommodation, Private Secretaries Office and Sir Edward Bridges Room. On the left of the corridor is also the GHQ Home Forces exhibit. There is a viewing window which starts from the floor. Further down the corridor, there is a permanently held open door. The width of the doors is 75cm+. After this door, you will reach The Camp Commandant Room, where there is seating with armrests and bench seating available. You will then pass through 'The Tunnel' which passes through the concrete wall. This is the start of Multimedia Guide Point 12. After the tunnel, you will reach the Map Annexe Room and Map Room Pool, where Multimedia Guide Point 13, 'The Heart of the Site' begins. These rooms are located ahead and to the right after the tunnel. Here, there is a viewing window which starts from the floor. Ahead, there is a doorway with no door fitted. The width of the opening is 75cm. You will then reach the Map Room Convo Map, which is located to the left after the doorway. There is a viewing window which starts from the floor. At the end of the corridor, there is another doorway with no door fitted. The width of the opening is 75cm. After this doorway, you will find Churchill's Bedroom and office which is located to the left after the doorway. This is where Multimedia Guide Point 14 starts, which is called 'Winston Churchill'. There is a viewing window which starts from the floor. After this exhibit, follow the corridor ahead which leads to the shop.
