Introduction

  • Go Ape is a challenging tree-top adventure set within the forest of Tilgate Park.
  • The course is also close to the Smith & Western Pub and Restaurant.
  • There are two courses, the Tree Top Adventure which is for adults and accompanied children over 10, and Tree Top Junior which is for anyone over 1m tall. .
  • The telephone number given is the direct line to the site office, for information only. Bookings can be made online or via the centralised booking number: 0843 770 4636.

Routes to Go Ape Hut

  • There are non-stepped routes from the car park to the Go Ape Hut, which is about 50m from the car park entrance.
  • Some of the route is on block-paved paths and tarmac paths and there are easy and moderate slopes. The paths are uneven in areas and, when the hard surfaced path ends, the forest floor is uneven and can be soft or muddy.

Go Ape Hut

  • Go Ape site staff are based at the Go Ape Hut. Guests visit the hut to sign in and to receive safety equipment. The hut is set amongst the trees on unmade ground. Staff can complete the formalities outside for anyone unable to access the hut.
  • The hut is located close to the children's playground. There is also a separate covered shelter with picnic benches for spectators. .

Go Ape Course

  • The Tree Top Adventure course is laid out in sections. The start of the course is approximately an 8 minute walk through the forest. Sections involve climbing ladders, crossing high level obstacles and descending by zip wires.
  • Participants wear a harness which they are trained how to safely clip and unclip at each section. Staff do not accompany participants but are available for advice and support if required.
  • The Tree Top Junior course (pictured) is located close to the Go Ape Hut. It is intended for children but can be used by anyone over 1m tall who would prefer a less challenging course. Participants are securely harnessed whilst at ground level and remain clipped on throughout the course. The course would typically take an hour to complete.
  • Go Ape offer an extra free ticket to adults (18+) with disabilities who require a carer/ assistant to complete the course with them. .

Accessible Toilet

  • The Go Ape Course does not have its own toilets. There are accessible toilets located in the toilet block next to the car park.
