View
- The Campus for Ageing and Vitality is located in Newcastle General Hospital, to the west of Newcastle.
From the A1, exit at the A69/A186 roundabout leaving eastbound onto the A186 (West Road).
Follow West Road (A186) for approximately 2 miles before turning left into the hospital, signed.
Follow the road round for approximately 600 metres to the parking areas. - There is parking and designated Blue Badge parking around the buildings.
- The Campus for Ageing and Vitality is located in Newcastle General Hospital, to the west of Newcastle.

Getting To (Castleside)
- Castleside is/are located to the rear of the building.
- Access to Castleside is via the Building 10 main entrance.
- Enter via the Building 10 main entrance and proceed ahead and slightly to the left to the lift.
Take the lift to the first floor.
On exiting the lift, turn right and follow the corridor for approximately 20 metres until reaching the main corridor on the left, signed.
Turn left and follow the main corridor to the end after approximately 30 metres.
Follow the end of the corridor round to the left into the Castleside lift foyer.
Enter the lift and descend to the ground floor.
On exiting the lift, turn left and the ward is located approximately 5 metres away. - There is step free access, via lift, to Castleside.
- Castleside is approximately 5m from the Castleside lift.
- There are resting areas along the route.
- Wayfinding signage is provided.
- Dementia friendly signage is not provided.
- There is some flooring in corridors which is shiny and could cause issues with glare or look slippery to some people.
