Access To
- ER201 - Lecture Theatre is located on the ground floor of Elvet Riverside 2, to the right as you enter. .
- View information on Elvet Riverside 2 (opens new tab).
- The most accessible route has step-free level access.
- There is written text and numbered signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into ER201 - Lecture Theatre.
- There are double automatic doors which open towards you.
- The locked door can be opened on request.
- The push pad for the automatic doors is at a height of 100cm.
- The width of the opening is 62cm.
- The doors have a medium visual contrast.
- There is a push pad or push button to exit at a height of 100cm.
- There are a second set of double automatic doors which open towards you.
- The push pad for the automatic doors is at a height of 100cm.
- The width of the opening is 123cm.
- The second set of doors have a high visual contrast.
- There is a push pad or push button to exit at a height of 99cm.
- Lighting in the corridor between both sets of doors is poor as the lighting was not working during time of survey (June 2026).
There is another set manual set of double doors on the first floor, which will lead you to the rear of the lecture theatre, this was locked at the time of survey.
Teaching
- This is a lecture theatre.
- There is step-free level access to the speaker’s area and front row only.
- The following areas have stepped access: the tiered seating.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is a fixed hearing assistance system which is not clearly signed.
- The hearing assistance system could not be tested at the time of the survey.
- Floor coverings are even with no trip hazards.
- The walls and floor visual contrast varies between low and high.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- Lighting levels are adjustable.
- There is tiered seating with no handrails at the steps.
- There are designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- The designated spaces for wheelchair users are located in the front row.
- There is step-free level access to the designated space surveyed.
- Companions sit next to you and behind you.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: chairs without armrests.
- Furniture available in the room includes: desks.
- All chairs and some tables are fixed.
- The surface heights are suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of the surfaces is suitable for wheelchair users.
- The height of the speaker's desk/table is 91cm.
- The speaker's desk/table is not height adjustable.
