South Road near Botanical Gardens Entrance to South College

  • Crossing the road via the pedestrian crossing that has drop kerbs on either side and controls at a height of 108cm (as shown in photographs 1 - 5)
  • After approximately 25m (Photograph 6) there is tactile paving for a pedestrian crossing across South Road.
  • The crossing has controls at a height of 110cm.
  • The crossing is shown in photographs 7- 10.
  • There is a footpath in front of you with a slight downhill gradient which leads to the pond which can be seen in photograph 11 -14.
  • Upon reaching the pond take the tarmac path to you right. Photographs 15 - 16.
  • At the end of the path you will reach Wentworth drive. Turn right along Wentworth Drive and you will reach South College. (Photographs 17 and 18).

South College to John Snow College

  • Continue along Wentworth Drive for approximately 140m before turning right and heading through the John Snow College to reach the Central Hub.
  • The service road for South College has drop kerbs on either side of the tarmac road. (Photographs 1 - 3).
  • There is a slight slope as you proceed up Wentworth Drive.
  • The surface of the pavement is tarmac.
  • After approximately 85m you will reach a service road with drop kerbs on either side which can be seen in photograph 7.
  • After which continue on for approximately 30m (photographs 8 and 9) and turn right through the bollards to enter John Snow College. The bollards have a width of 160cm between them and can be seen in photograph 10.
  • Head through the college going past the hub building as shown in photographs 11 - 15. The surface of the pavement here is brick block paving.
  • The hub contains numerous facilities including the College Reception, College Laundry and toilet facilities.
  • Head through the bollards immediately beyond it (photograph 16) and turn right heading towards the centre of St John's College.
  • As you do so there is a section of block paving (photographs 17 and 18)
  • There is bench seating (photograph 19) and a monument to John Snow (photograph 20).
