Getting To The Hospital

  • By Road View
    • The postcode to use for the SAT-Nav is SG1 4AB. Lister Hospital is easily accessed from the North or South using the A1(M). From the A1(M) come off at Junction 8 in Stevenage and follow the A602 up the mini roundabout. At the round about take the first exit onto Coreys Mill Lane. The main entrance to the Lister Hospital is located off Coreys Mill Lane.
    • There is a multi-storey car park on site for patients and visitors. There are also standard on street parking bays on Coreys Mill Lane.
  • By Bus View
    • There are two bus stops just outside the grounds of the hospital. Bus stop A buses include: 55, 80, 300, 301, 386, 390 and 635. Bus stop B buses include: 55, 80, 300, 301, 386, 390, 635, SB8 and SB9.
    • There is an onsite bus stop.
    • The bus stops are located at the front of the hospital on Coreys Mill Lane.
    • The two bus stops are fully sheltered and have benched seating. There is limited space for a wheelchair user.
  • By Train View
    • The nearest train station is Stevenage Station. The hospital is 1.8 miles (36 minute walk) from the train station. The station is served by Great Northern, Hull Trains, LNER and Thameslink.

Getting Help and Assistance

  • There is a Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at the hospital.

Getting To (Acute Medical Unit (AMU 2))

  • The Acute Medical Unit is/are located on the first floor (level 2) of green zone.
  • Access to the Acute Medical Unit is via the Green Zone entrance.
  • Go through the door that is immediately to your left as you enter the building via the Green Zone entrance. Then enter the lift lobby that is to your left as you enter through those doors and use the acute cardiac lift onto the first floor (level 2). Then exit the acute cardiac lift and the Acute Medical Unit is the door that is on the right side of the corridor.
  • There is step free access, via lift, to the Acute Medical Unit.
  • The Acute Medical Unit is approximately 15m from the acute cardiac lift.
  • There are resting areas along the route.
  • Wayfinding signage is provided.
  • Dementia friendly signage is not provided.
  • There is some flooring in corridors which is shiny and could cause issues with glare or look slippery to some people.
