Access Guide
Access To (Training Kitchens)
- The Training Kitchens are located towards the rear of the upper part of the ground floor in Tower Block.

- The most accessible route has step-free level access.
- There is written text signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into the kitchens.
- There are lockers on approach to the kitchens with openers at heights between 70cm and 180cm.
- There are double manual doors which open away from you.
- One of the doors was locked at the time of the survey.
- The width of the opening is 160cm.
- The doors have a high visual contrast.
- There is a set of five clearly marked steps with handrails on both sides to the rear of the restaurant leading to and from the Kitchens. There is a single manual door located after the steps.
- There is a single manual door from the restaurant entrance into the Sugar Craft kitchen this is followed by five clearly marked steps with handrails on both sides.
Area (Training Kitchens)
- Facilities available in this area include: training kitchens, Sugar Craft kitchen and a teaching room.
- There is step-free level access throughout the area.
- Access throughout the area may include manual doors.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- The flooring is shiny.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- There may be background noise in this area.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- There are 75cm doors between kitchens in the kitchen area.
- Kitchen counters, ovens and other equipment is fixed and cannot be moved.

Access To (Training Kitchens Teaching Room)
- The training kitchens teaching room is located in the middle of the training kitchens area.

- The most accessible route has step-free level access, a platform lift and shiny flooring.
- The signage on the door is not from the teaching room but instead gives instructions on accessing the Sugar Craft kitchen.
- There is no signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into the teaching room.
- There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 75cm.
- The door has a high visual contrast.
- There is a similar door into the room from the Sugar Craft kitchen with a width of 85cm that opens away from you.
- The only step-free access to the Sugar Craft kitchen is by travelling through the teaching room.
Teaching (Training Kitchens Teaching Room)
- This is a teaching room.
- There is step-free level access throughout the room.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Floor coverings are not even and could potentially cause a trip hazard.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: chairs without armrests.
