  • The Caphouse exhibition area is an open area at the rear of the site.
  • The distance from the Blue Badge parking bays is 90m.
  • The most accessible route has slight ramps or slopes, steep ramps or slopes, uneven surfaces, manual doors and automatic doors.

Exhibition Space

  • Exhibits vary between internal and external.
  • The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: there are slopes and ramps of varying degree throughout the entire exhibition area.
  • Access throughout may include uneven surfaces, manual doors and narrow openings.
  • There is some room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
  • The following may be experienced here: audio triggered by a sensor and audio triggered by the visitor.
  • There may be background noise.
  • Lighting levels vary due to the size of the space.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system.
  • Guided tours are available.
  • Access throughout the tour may include uneven surfaces, narrow walkways and narrow openings.
  • Wayfinding signage is provided throughout the tour.
  • The Underground Tour is accessed via miner's cage lift and is cramped and dark in places.
