Access To
- Pit Wood, the adventure playground, the nature trail, drift mouth, indoor picnic area and Pit Head Baths are to the left and rear of the venue.
- The distance from the car park is 100m.
- The most accessible route has steep ramps or slopes, uneven surfaces and manual doors.
- The slope has a steep gradient.
Outdoor Spaces (Adventure Playground)
- The following is available in this area: a playground with play equipment and a grassed play area.
- Outdoor areas consist of wood bark and rubber matting.
- There are footpaths in some areas.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- The following areas have stepped access: the climbing frames and slides.
- There are some seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

- There is a fenced play area with an access point over 100cm wide.
- There is a route around the play equipment which is not firm and even, but is over 150cm wide.
- The play equipment is within easy reach for seated and standing users and users of different heights.
- The following play experiences are available: swinging, sliding, climbing, balancing and crawling.
Exhibition Space
- This area is internal and external.
- The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: all areas within the Pit Wood space are accessed via ramps or slopes of varying degrees.
- Access throughout may include uneven surfaces, narrow walkways and narrow openings.
- There is some room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is no (or very little) background noise.
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Seating available in this area includes: chairs without armrests.
- Furniture available in this area includes: tables.
