Overview

  • About View
    • The Fox is a Public House with additional function rooms set over 3 floors.
    • Services available in the venue include: a function room on the first floor and a bookable karaoke room on the second floor.

    • There is step-free access via ramp at the most accessible entrance.
    • There is step-free level access throughout the majority of areas.
    • The following areas have stepped access: the first floor function room and terrace, the karaoke room on the second floor and the standard toilets in the basement.
    • Access throughout may include manual doors, narrow walkways and narrow openings.
    • The basement, first and second floors can be accessed via stairs.
    • The following facilities are available: a water bowl for assistance dogs and a seat/chair.
    • Staff receive the following training: emergency first aid.
  • Toilet and Changing Facilities View
    • There is 1 toilet with adaptations.
    • The toilet with adaptations is located on the ground floor.
    • The male and female toilet facilities are located in the basement.
    • The shared toilet facilities are located on the second floor.

Entrance

  • This entrance is located on the corner of Paul Street and Scrutton Street.
  • There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance.
  • The ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide .
  • There are double manual doors at this entrance.
  • The doors open away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 142cm.
  • The double doors are not always open, depending on the weather.
  • There is step-free level access as you enter.

Eating and Drinking (Ground Floor)

  • Location and Service View
    • This area has a bar where food and drink can be ordered, colleagues who can provide assistance with ordering and numerous seating options.
    • Menus are handheld, available on a board and online.
    • The following dietary requirements can be catered for: gluten free, dairy free, lactose free, nut allergy, vegetarian and vegan.
    • The following are available: drinking straws and takeaway cups.
    • There is not a hearing assistance system.
  • Order and Payment View
    • The bar was surveyed.
    • The counter is located to the right hand side of the main entrance.
    • There is step-free level access to the counter.
    • The height of the counter is 115cm.
  • Seating Area View
    • There is step-free level access throughout the seating area.
    • There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
    • There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
    • Seating available in this area includes: stools, chairs without armrests and high stools.
    • Furniture available in this area includes: tables and high tables.
    • There is background noise in this area which varies depending on the time of day.

Toilet with Adaptations

  • Location and Access View
    • The toilet surveyed is located on the ground floor, to the right of the main staircase.
    • The most accessible route to the toilet has step-free level access and manual doors.
    • There is step-free level access into the facility.
    • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
    • The door opens outwards.
    • The width of the door opening is 85cm.
    • The door has a locking handle (with a RADAR key to access).
  • Dimensions and Features View
    • There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
    • There is a lateral transfer space to the right as you face the toilet, however it is obstructed.
    • The lateral transfer space is 60cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
    • There is a lever flush on the right transfer side.
    • There is a horizontal grab rail on the non-transfer side.
    • There is a vertical grab rail on the transfer side.
    • There are dropdown rails on both sides of the toilet.
    • The toilet seat is 46cm from the floor.
    • There is a wall mounted toilet roll holder, a wash basin, a wall mounted soap dispenser and a hand dryer available.
    • The wash basin has a lever tap.
    • The vertical grab rails are on both sides of the wash basin.
    • There is a pull cord emergency alarm, however it is not within 10cm from the floor.
    • The cubicle has a waste bin and a sanitary bin.
    • Additional features include: a mirror.

Stairs

  • The stairs surveyed are located on the opposite side of the bar area from the main entrance door.
  • The ground, first and second floors can be accessed by these stairs.
  • There are 20 steps between floors which are marked and have a handrail that switches sides.
  • There is a separate staircase (not shown) leading to the standard male and female toilets in the basement with 14 steps.

Room (Karaoke Den)

  • The room is located on the second floor.
  • The most accessible route to the room has steps, manual doors, narrow walkways and narrow openings.
  • There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 72cm.
  • There is step-free level access throughout the room.
  • There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
  • Seating available in the room includes: chairs without armrests, benches and stools.
  • Furniture available in the room includes: tables.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system.
  • There is background noise in this area which varies depending on the function/event .
