Electric Vehicle Chargepoint
- The electric charging point is provided by BP Pulse.

- The charger type is CCS.
- The charger type is clearly signed.
- The chargepoint is located to the right of the charging station.
- Staff are able to provide assistance with the electric charging point.

Chargepoint Location

- The chargepoint is located to the rear as you approach the bay.
- There is a space of at least 120cm in front of the chargepoint.
- There is at least 120cm between this chargepoint and any adjacent chargepoints.
- There are bollards which are 90cm high with a minimum width between them of 70cm and extending 20cm in front of the chargepoint.
- The bollards do not have a high colour contrast to prevent them being hazardous to visually impaired people.
- The surface around the chargepoint is tarmac.
- The chargepoint does contrast visually with the surrounding surfaces.
- The chargepoint does not combine with other street furniture to create an obstacle to pedestrians.
- There is step-free level access to the chargepoint from the parking bay.
- There is no tactile paving.

Controls, Screens and Payment

- Clear instructions for use are available at the chargepoint.
- Use of the chargepoint is supported by an app.
- The height range of the screen is 110cm to 131cm from the carriageway level.
- The screen can be read from both a seated and standing position.
- The content and text is clearly visible in outdoor conditions.
- The content and text on the screen is easy to read and understand.
- The screen is illuminated and can be easily identified.
- The height range of the touchscreen is 112cm to 129cm from the carriageway level.
- Payment can be made by app or by contactless payment (tap and pay).
- The height to the bottom edge of the payment terminal is 80cm.
- The payment terminal does contrast visually with the chargepoint.
- Parking for all users at this location is limited to 90 minutes.

Cables and Connectors

- The chargepoint has a built-in cable. The height of the connector handle when in its holster is 84cm.
- The cable connector is lifted from the holster.
- The cable connector requires effort to remove from the holster.
- The charging cable connector is easy to grip.
- The charging cable and connector does contrast visually with the chargepoint.
- Once removed from the holster the cable is easy to manoeuvre whilst supported on the ground.
- Once removed from the holster the unsupported cable is easy to manoeuvre.
- The cable can be used with a variety of parking positions, and vehicle sizes, without causing an obstruction.
- The free length of the cable when not in use is 3m.
- The cable does create a trip hazard when in use and when not in use.
- The charging cable connector is easy to locate back into the holster or dock after use.
Standard Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Bay
- The bay is clearly marked as an electric vehicle bay.
- The charging bay dimensions are 240cm x 480cm.
- There is a hatched zone on both sides only.
- The hatched zone is at least 120cm.
- The bay and chargepoint are well lit.
- The bay is protected by clearly visible security cameras.
- The bay is within 200m of the main amenities at this location.
