The council is committed to providing inclusive leisure facilities which enable our residents to be active. The Hart Health & Wellbeing Plan recognises the important role physical activity plays in improving and protecting both physical and mental health. Working in partnership with Everyone Active, the council aims to help more people experience these benefits by supporting them to be more active, more often
In 2017, Everyone Active was named Operator of the Year for the fifth time at the ukactive and Matrix Flame Awards, as well as Swim England’s (formerly the ASA) Facility Operator of the Year at its 2016 Swimtastic Awards. Both accolades recognise Everyone Active’s commitment to continually improving its services and facilities in line with customer needs.
Everyone Active maintains close links with the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS), and recently worked on a joint research project examining the ways in which inactive disabled people can be encouraged to engage in exercise. Off the back of this, it has conducted accessibility audits and colleague training, as well as revised its marketing materials and website to ensure they are accessible to all audiences.
