    • Queen's Park is a public park and Glass House located in the Southside of Glasgow, between the Shawlands, Strathbungo, Battlefield, Mount Florida and Crosshill.
    • The following is available here: formal gardens, gardens, a grassed play area, greenhouses, an outdoor gym, parkland, a playground, sports courts, trails and woodland.

    • There are 2 toilets with adaptations.
    • The toilets with adaptations are located at the tennis pavilion and in the Glass House.
    • The transfer space varies between left and right in the toilets with adaptations.
    • The toilet with adaptations with the right transfer in the Glass House, has the transfer space blocked by a baby change unit.
    • Female and male step-free standard toilet facilities are located in the Glass House.

    • Parent and baby changing facilities are located in the Glass House toilet with adaptions.

Entrances

  • There are 10+ entrances to the park.
  • These access points are located in Langside Road, Langside Avenue, Pollokshaws Road, Balvicar Road, Balvicar Drive and Queens Drive.
  • One of the access points off Pollokshaws Road is close to the public car park.
  • There is only one access point with stepped access which is located in Langside Avenue.
  • All access points have open gaps, the majority of which are at least 150cm wide.
  • All access points have surfaced paths leading into the park.
  • There are some steep slopes on some of these paths.
  • There may also be some uneven surfaces.

    • There is not a designated drop-off point available.
  • On-street Parking View
    • On-street standard parking is available.
    • On street parking is available in streets around the park.
    • There is a public car park located by Goals off Pollokshaws Road.
    • The name of the car park is Goals car park.
    • Designated Blue Badge parking bays are not available in the car park.
    • Electric vehicle charging points are not available in the car park.
    • Payment for public parking in the car park is via mobile on the YourParking Space app.

Outdoor Spaces

    • The following is available in this area: a playground, a grassed play area, a sports pitch, sports courts, an outdoor gym, parkland, woodland and formal gardens.
    • Additional facilities in this area include: Glass House, tennis pavilion and tennis courts.
  • Getting Around View
    • There are surfaced footpaths throughout.
    • Surfaced footpaths consist of: tarmac and cobbles.
    • The majority of the surfaced footpaths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
    • Some footpaths have sections with potential obstacles such as: uneven surfaces, bollards, overgrowing vegetation, bins and signs.
    • There are also unsurfaced paths/trails in some areas.
    • Path or trail surfaces consist of: grass, compact earth and uncompacted earth (muddy).
    • The majority of the unsurfaced footpaths are not wide enough for wheelchair users.
    • Some paths/trails have sections with: uneven surfaces, narrow sections, overgrown vegetation and muddy surfaces.
    • There are seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
    • There is step-free level access throughout the majority of areas.
    • The following areas have stepped access: nature trail, viewpoint, tennis pavilion (eastern approach).
    • The following areas have step-free access via slopes or ramps: the majority of the park including the tennis pavilion, the Glass House and the viewpoint.
    • There are slight and steep ramps and slopes on circulation routes throughout the park.
  • Playground View
    • The playground is accessed via a gate.
    • The width of the opening is 99cm.
    • Some of the play equipment is within easy reach for seated and standing users and users of different heights.
    • The following play experiences are available: swinging, sliding, rocking, rotating, climbing, balancing and social play (e.g. water or sand pits, talk tubes, hopscotch, roundabouts, see-saws).
    • Routes around the play equipment are firm and even.
    • Routes around the play equipment are at least 150cm wide.
    • The information above is for the Queen's Park Playground (North) near Balvicar Street. There is a second smaller playground, Queen's Park Playground (South) to the south end of the park to the right of the Glass House.

The Glass House

    • The Glass House is located at the south side of the park, at the top of the hill.
    • The most accessible route has steep slopes.
    • This route also has uneven surfaces.

    • The main entrance was surveyed.
    • There is step-free level access into the building.
    • There are double automatic doors.

    • There are no doors to open along the most accessible route.
    • This route also has uneven surfaces.

    • There is step-free level access into the facility.
    • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
    • The door opens outwards and has a high colour contrast.
    • The width of the opening is 77cm.
    • The door has a twist lock.
    • Internally the door has a medium colour contrast.
