Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • Take the M61 to junction 4. At junction 4, take the A6 exit to Leigh/Atherton. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Watergate Lane. Turn right onto Plodder Lane/B6199. Go straight over the roundabout. Turn left onto Redgate Way. Go straight over the roundabout. At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Redgate Way. The Royal Bolton Hospital is located on the right.
    • There is Blue Badge and standard parking available at the hospital. On most visitor car parks (Bridge, Chadwick and Mallet) there is a single charge of £3 for 24 hours. This has the advantage for visitors of not having to pay more than once if they return to the site on the same day, as long as they use the same vehicle as car registrations are printed on the ticket. There is no charge for 30 minutes parking (but a ticket must be obtained from the pay and display machine) and £1 for 30 minutes to an hour.
  • By Bus View
    • There are bus stops within the hospital grounds. Routes 501, 512, 521 and 695 stop here. With the exception of the 501, buses are hourly, from Monday to Saturday. The 501 is a Gold Service route which runs every ten minutes, Monday to Friday, between 7.00a.m. and 5.30p.m. Bus Companies that operate here include Diamond Busses, Traveline, Tyrers Coaches and Vision.

    • The nearest mainline station to the hospital is Bolton Railway Station on Trinity Way Bolton.
