About this venue

Green Flag Award winning Spike Island, on the Trans Pennine Trail, is now open parkland with items of industrial archaeological interest and a canal. Acknowledged as the birthplace of the British chemical industry, the industrial wilderness was reclaimed as woodland, wetlands and green space between 1975 and 1982. It has a great position on the banks of the Mersey Estuary.
