Getting To The Hospital (Royal Hampshire County Hospital)

  • By Road View
    • The Royal Hampshire County Hospital is located on Romsey Road which is approximately a mile from Winchester City Centre.
    • There are a number of car parks on the hospital site. Patient parking is available in the following areas: •Butterfield Wing - Level 5 and 6 of the multi-storey car park. •Brinton Wing - Level 5 and 6 of the multi-storey car park. •Nightingale Wing - Queens Road (pay and display) or Level 5 and 6 of the multi-storey car park. •Burrell Wing - Maternity (pay and display) or Queens Road car park (pay and display) •Maternity - Maternity (pay and display) or Queens Road car park (pay and display) •Outpatients/ENT - Level 5 and 6 of the multi-storey car park. Due to high demand for parking on site, if you have a planned appointment or scheduled visiting time at the Hospital, we strongly recommend using park and ride. Blue Badge holders park for free (accept in the multi-storey car park). Please ensure you display your Blue Badge. Free parking is also available for the following patients and visitors at all three of our hospitals: •Patients attending for chemotherapy. •Patients/visitors attending every day after one week of attendance. •Outpatients who have been attending for more than two weeks and continue to attend at least twice a week with the same illness or condition. •Visitors to patients being cared for in the Intensive Care Unit or the neonatal unit. •Visitors to inpatients whose stay in hospital has been more than one week, providing they are visiting every day. •Visitors to inpatients whose stay in hospital has been more than two weeks, providing they are visiting at least twice per week. •Carers staying overnight with children who are inpatients. •Relatives or carers of patients who are receiving end of life care. If you think you are eligible for free parking, please inform the nurse in charge of the patient’s care.
  • By Bus View
    • The main bus station is situated opposite the Guildhall on the Broadway. You may also catch a bus from City Road/Rail station. You can also catch a Park and Ride bus which operates 6 days a week. There is no parking on Sundays. There are 780 spaces at Barfield and St Catherine’s, junction 10 and a further 864 spaces at South Winchester, junction 11. The Park and Ride bus route from Barfield and St Catherine’s stops at The Castle (Hampshire County Council’s headquarters), and then along Romsey Road to the hospital. Visitors who park in the South Winchester Park and Ride can take the bus back along the same route, stopping at the hospital and beyond to Barfield and St Catherine's.

Getting Help and Assistance (Royal Hampshire County Hospital)

Getting To (Outpatient's Pharmacy)

  • Enter via Nightingale Wing - Level B entrance. Go through the set of automatic doors and then turn right down the Nightingale Wing main corridor. Continue ahead down the corridor and follow the signage for the main outpatient's department until you reach the next set of automatic doors. Once through the automatic doors turn left and go through the next set of double doors until you get to the main outpatient's reception area. Walk straight through the main outpatient's waiting area. Turn right before the double doors at the rear of the outpatients department and the outpatient's pharmacy is located on the right.
  • There is step free access to the Outpatient's Pharmacy.
  • The Outpatient's Pharmacy is approximately 65m from the Nightingale Wing - Level B entrance.
