Getting To The Hospital

  • By Road View
    • Head west on Talgarth Road/A4. Keep left to continue on Talgarth Road for 0.2 miles. Use any lane and turn slightly left onto Talgarth Road/A219/A315. Use the left 2 lanes to turn slightly left onto Fulham Palace. Continue for 0.3 miles and Charing Cross Hospital is located on the left. When possible, we strongly encourage you to use public transport to travel to and from Charing Cross Hospital. If you decide to travel by car, please plan your journey in advance. We have a small number of car parking spaces. There is also a pick-up and drop-off point directly outside the hospital’s main entrance which patients and visitors can use.
    • Parking costs £2.40 per hour. Please ensure you have enough change to pay for and display your ticket in the windscreen of your vehicle. There are 25 disabled parking spaces on site which are free for Blue Badge holders. When using a disabled parking bay, please make sure you display a valid blue badge in the windscreen of your vehicle.
  • By Bus View
    • Please use the Transport for London bus map to help you find your way to hospital.
    • There is an onsite bus stop.
    • The nearest bus stop is located just outside the hospital site on Fulham Palace Road. Bus numbers 190, 211 , 220 , 295, N11 and N97 stop here.
    • The bus stop located on Fulham Palace Road is sheltered with four fixed benches. There is no designated wheelchair space.
  • By Train View
    • Kensington Olympia overground railway station is approximately a 22 minute walk from the hospital.
  • By Underground View
    • Baron’s Court, situated in Zone two on the Piccadilly line, is the closest underground station to Charing Cross Hospital. It is approximately a nine minute walk from the hospital. Hammersmith underground station, which is situated in Zone Two on the Circle, Hammersmith & City, District and Piccadilly lines, is approximately a 10 minute walk or five minute bus ride from the hospital. West Kensington underground station, which is situated in Zone Two on the District line, is approximately a 15 minute walk from the hospital.

Getting Help and Assistance

  • There is a Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at the hospital.
  • The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) is located on the ground floor of the Tower Block.

  • There are volunteers available for help and assistance at the hospital.
  • Volunteers can be found at the main reception.
  • Volunteers do not receive disability awareness / equality training.
  • Documents are available in an alternative format and can be provided to include: Braille on request, large print on request, Makaton on request and different languages on request.
  • There is not an assistance dog toilet or toileting area on the hospital site.
  • Hospital staff receive deaf awareness training.
  • Water bowls for assistance dogs are available on request.
  • BSL interpreters can be provided on request.
  • Language interpreters can be provided on request.
  • A mobility scooter charging point is not available at the hospital.
  • Mobility aids are available to help patients move around and include; wheelchairs.

Hospital Parking (Main Entrance Tower Block)

    • The car park does not have a barrier control system.

    • The Blue Badge bay(s) is/are clearly marked.
    • There is/are 10 designated Blue Badge parking bay(s) within the hospital car park.
    • The dimensions of the designated Blue Badge parking bay(s) surveyed are 350cm x 471cm (11ft 6in x 15ft 5in).
    • There is not a 120cm hatched zone around the Blue Badge parking bay(s).
    • Parking spaces for Blue Badge holders do not need to be booked in advance.
