Access To (Internal Entrance)

  • The Senior Common Room is located on level 2 of the Sherfield Building, on the left out of the main lifts.
  • There is also an external entrance into the Senior Common Room from the Sherfield Walkway.
  • View information on Sherfield Building (opens new tab).
  • The most accessible route has step-free level access and a lift.
  • There is written text signage on or near the entrance.
  • There is step-free level access into the service.
  • There are double automatic doors which open by sliding.
  • The width of the opening is 185cm.
  • The doors have a low visual contrast.

Entrance (External - Sherfield Walkway)

  • This entrance is located along the external Sherfield Walkway.
  • The entrance area is clearly signed.
  • There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There are double manual doors at this entrance.
  • The doors open towards you.
  • The width of the opening is 145cm.
  • There is a small lip on the threshold of the opening.
  • The doors have a high visual contrast.
  • There is a similar alternative entrance further along the Walkway towards the Junior Common Room, opposite the entrance to the ACEX Building. The doors here open both ways.

Toilet and Changing Facilities

  • Toilet Facilities View
    • The male and female step-free standard toilet facilities are located on the left after the internal entrance to the Senior Common Room.

Eating and Drinking (SCR Restaurant)

  • Location and Access View
    • The Senior Common Room restaurant is located at the far end of the Senior Common Room from the internal entrance.
    • There is step-free level access into this area.
  • Service View
    • This area has a counter where food and drink can be ordered, a self service counter and staff who can provide assistance with ordering.
    • Full table service is not available.
    • Menus types include: wall-mounted, menu boards and digital.
    • The following dietary requirements can be catered for: gluten free, dairy free, lactose free, nut allergy, vegetarian and vegan.
    • The following are available: takeaway cutlery.
    • There is not a hearing assistance system.
