Overview

Assistance and Accessibility

  • For information on passenger assistance and accessibility please click here (new tab).
  • There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.
  • There is no hearing assistance system.
  • There is seating available.
  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance.
  • There is not a quiet space or reflection space.
  • British Sign Language interpreters are not available.
  • Water bowls for assistance dogs are available.
  • There is not a designated assistance dog spending area.
  • Passengers requiring assistance are requested to pre-book at least 48 hours before the scheduled time of departure for their flight. This booking should be made with your airline carrier, tour operator or travel agent. If this information is not made available within these time frames assistance may be limited or delayed. Carriage by the airline may also be denied.
  • Best efforts will be made at all times to accommodate late bookings for assistance, but cannot be guaranteed.
  • On arrival at the airport there are two special assistance call points located in the Premium Car Park 1 by the drop off zone, one by the taxi rank and one by the bus stop, with designated shelters adjacent. Alternatively, the Special Assistance waiting area is to the left of the Information Desk. Assistance is then provided at all points through to embarkation onto the aircraft.
  • Accessibility on the aircraft is the responsibility of the airline and is dependent on the individual provider.
  • More information can be provided at the Information Desk in the main terminal building on the right as you enter via the Departures Entrance.

Toilet and Changing Facilities - Main Concourse

  • There is 1 toilet with adaptations.
  • The toilet with adaptations is located in the Check-In Hall, to the left of the Information desk.
  • The toilet with adaptations has a right hand transfer space.
  • Changing Places facilities are located in the Check-In Hall, to the left of the Information desk.
  • Step-free male and female standard toilet facilities are located in the Check-In Hall, to the left of the Information desk.
  • Step-free male and female standard toilet facilities are located in the Arrivals Hall, opposite the domestic baggage claim.
  • Parent and baby changing facilities are located in the male and female standard toilet facilities in both the Check-In and Arrivals Hall.
  • A nursing chair is available in the Check-In Hall female standard toilet facilities.

Departures Entrance

  • This entrance is located at the front right of the Terminal building.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • The entrance area is clearly signed.
  • There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at this entrance.
  • There are no help points available.
  • There is a single automatic door which opens by revolving.
  • The width of the opening is 269cm.
  • The door has a low visual contrast.
  • The revolving automatic door has a button for slowing down the operating speed for people with mobility problems, with buggies, children or pets. The button is at a height of 90cm.
  • There are alternative manual side double doors, 150cm wide, which open towards you, that some people may have difficulty opening.

Information Desk

  • The counter is located in the Check-In Hall, next to the Departures Entrance/Exit.
  • The counter is approximately 5m from the Departures Entrance/Exit.
  • The counter is clearly visible from the entrance.
  • There is step-free level access to the counter.
  • The height of the counter is 110cm.
  • The lowered section of the counter is at a height of 76cm.
  • There is a clear knee recess beneath the lowered section of the counter.
  • The counter has glazed screens which may affect the ability of someone to lip read.
  • There is sufficient space to write or sign documents on the counter.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system.
  • There is no (or very little) background noise.
  • Lighting levels are moderate to good.

  • At Inverness Airport, wheelchair users can be manually screened in their wheelchairs, but their mobility aids must undergo x-ray screening and a manual search. Passengers should inform security staff if they have difficulty standing for the screening. You can ask for a chair or request to be screened while seated in your wheelchair.
  • Walking stick users will need to have their walking stick screened and x-rayed. A wooden walking stick will be supplied while you pass through Security.
