Ambulift

    The ambulift is used for passengers who are unable to board or disembark the aircraft via steps or Aviramp The ambulift transports passengers from the terminal to the aircraft door and vice versa. There is a lift operated by a member of staff which is located at the rear of the vehicle. There is fixed seating and space for wheelchair users. Narrow aisle chairs are available to transfer passengers onto and off the aircraft. The ambulift is raised up to the airplane doors, where the passengers are moved onto or off the airplane via an extending bridge.

Getting from the Arrivals Gates

  • The most accessible route from the Arrival Gates has step-free level access and slight ramps/slopes.
  • Assistance vehicles are not available.
  • There are not resting/seating areas along the route.
  • Wayfinding signage is available along the route.
  • Lighting levels are varied.
  • For information on how to book assistance please visit the airport website.
  • Exit from the aircraft is by Ambulift or by steps and on foot to the Domestic Arrivals Walkway. After being directed by staff to the apron, follow the signs for Domestic Arrivals. The route to the Arrivals Hall is approximately 100m from the apron and is step free. Take the covered walkway that bypasses the International Arrivals Building. Follow the covered walkway around to the left, all the way to the Domestic Arrivals entrance.

Exit to Arrivals Hall

  • This exit is located at the end of the covered walkway.
  • There are no help points available.
  • There is step-free level access at the exit.
  • There are double automatic doors which are permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 144cm.
  • The doors have a high visual contrast.

Domestic Baggage Reclaim

  • The most accessible route from Border Control to Baggage Claim has step-free level access.
  • There is clear signage to the baggage claim area.
  • There are 1 baggage carousels.
  • Some flooring is shiny.
  • Lighting levels are varied.
  • There are information screens showing carousel flight assignment.
  • There is a member of staff available to assist with retrieving baggage from the carousels.

  • Passengers requiring assistance are requested to pre-book at least 48 hours before the scheduled time of departure for their flight. This booking should be made with your airline carrier, tour operator or travel agent. If this information is not made available within these time frames assistance may be limited or delayed. Carriage by the airline may also be denied.
  • Best efforts will be made at all times to accommodate late bookings for assistance, but cannot be guaranteed.
  • On arrival at the airport there are two special assistance call points located in the Premium Car Park 1 by the drop off zone, one by the taxi rank and one by the bus stop, with designated shelters adjacent. Alternatively, the Special Assistance waiting area is to the left of the Information Desk. Assistance is then provided at all points through to embarkation onto the aircraft.
  • Accessibility on the aircraft is the responsibility of the airline and is dependent on the individual provider.
  • More information can be provided at the Information Desk in the main terminal building on the right as you enter via the Departures Entrance.
