Overview

Getting to Inverness Airport

  • The airport is situated a 15 minute drive from the city centre via the A96 and B9039 as signposted.
    For SatNav please use the postcode IV2 7JB.
  • There is a 15 minute free Drop Off, and Premium and Accessible, Short Stay, and Long Stay parking.
  • There is a bus stop within 150 metres of the venue.
  • Stagecoach operates the "Jet" bus service to Inverness Airport with up to a 30 minute service between the Inverness city centre and the airport, and up to an hourly service from the airport to Nairn, and Elgin. They also operate the number 11 bus route between Inverness city centre and the airport, on a varied schedule through the day.
    Buses run more frequently at peak times of the day.
    Please check current timetables before travel and on arrival contact the information desk for assistance with bus timings for your onward journey.
    If travelling by bus from Inverness Airport, passengers should get off at Academy Street by the Eastgate Shopping Centre for access to Inverness inter city train station.

  • The nearest Railway Station is Inverness Airport.
  • Inverness Airport Station is approximately a 15 to 20 minute walk from the airport. There is a regular bus link from the station to the terminal, Stagecoach service 11. This service is chargeable.
    There are train services and links to many destinations within the Highlands as well as Inverness, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
    The station is not staffed.
  • There is not an assisted travel handover process from the train station to the airport.

Toilet and Changing Facilities - Main Concourse

  • The toilet with adaptations is located in the Check-In Hall, to the left of the Information desk.

  • Changing Places facilities are located in the Check-In Hall, to the left of the Information desk.
  • Step-free male and female standard toilet facilities are located in the Check-In Hall, to the left of the Information desk.
  • Step-free male and female standard toilet facilities are located in the Arrivals Hall, opposite the domestic baggage claim.
  • Parent and baby changing facilities are located in the male and female standard toilet facilities in both the Check-In and Arrivals Hall.
  • A nursing chair is available in the Check-In Hall female standard toilet facilities.

Assistance and Accessibility

  • There is no hearing assistance system.
  • There is seating available.
  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance.
  • There is not a quiet space or reflection space.
  • British Sign Language interpreters are not available.
  • Water bowls for assistance dogs are available.
  • There is not a designated assistance dog spending area.
  • Passengers requiring assistance are requested to pre-book at least 48 hours before the scheduled time of departure for their flight. This booking should be made with your airline carrier, tour operator or travel agent. If this information is not made available within these time frames assistance may be limited or delayed. Carriage by the airline may also be denied.
  • Best efforts will be made at all times to accommodate late bookings for assistance, but cannot be guaranteed.
  • On arrival at the airport there are two special assistance call points located in the Premium Car Park 1 by the drop off zone, one by the taxi rank and one by the bus stop, with designated shelters adjacent. Alternatively, the Special Assistance waiting area is to the left of the Information Desk. Assistance is then provided at all points through to embarkation onto the aircraft.
  • Accessibility on the aircraft is the responsibility of the airline and is dependent on the individual provider.
  • More information can be provided at the Information Desk in the main terminal building on the right as you enter via the Departures Entrance.

Terminal - Arrivals Entrance

  • This entrance is located on the left of the main terminal building.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • The entrance area is not clearly signed.
  • There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at this entrance.
  • There are no help points available.
  • There is a single automatic door which opens by revolving.
  • The width of the opening is 260cm.
  • The door have a low visual contrast.
  • The revolving automatic door has a button for slowing down the operating speed for people with mobility problems, buggies, children or pets. The button is at a height of 90cm.
  • There are alternative manual side double doors, 150cm wide, which open towards you, that some people may have difficulty opening.
  • There is a similar entrance to the right of the main terminal building leading to the Check-In Hall and the Information desk.

Arrivals Hall

  • The lowered section of the counter is at a height of 76cm.

  • The counter has glazed screens which may affect the ability of someone to lip read.
