- Maughan Library is arranged over 4 main floors in a Main Building, with a connected wing towards Chancery Lane on the left-hand side, called the Chancery Lane Wing. The other end of the Main Building on the right-hand side is referred to as the Fetter Lane end. There are mezzanine floors to the sides of each of the ground, first and second floors, with varying levels of step-free access via lift. The mezzanine floors are signed as GM, 1M, and 2M. Some mezzanine floors have no step-free access, especially those to the rear of the ground and second floors in the Main Building, and all mezzanine levels within the Chancery Lane Wing. The mezzanine levels in the Main Building do not connect directly with the mezzanine levels in the Chancery Lane Wing. The Clock Tower floors are located towards the centre of the Main Building above the second floor, and are called floors T1, T2, T3, T4, and T5. Clock Tower floors T1 to T4 have step-free access via the main lifts. There is not step-free access to the Clock Tower floor T5.

- Services / Facilities within the building include; the Rolls Café, workshop space, and computer rooms on floor -1. On the ground floor are the main and IT receptions, assistive technology rooms, the Weston Room, a computer room, group study room, and short loan area; On the ground floor mezzanine level are group study rooms.
