Introduction (Batley Bus Station to Batley Town Hall/Market Square)

- Parking
- There is limited on-street Blue Badge parking and standard parking available on St James Street, Branch Road, Commercial Street and surrounding side roads.
- Several public car parks are also available throughout the route.
- By Bus
- There are several bus stops along most of the route on St James Street, Branch Road, Commercial Street and surrounding side roads with direct services available to Leeds, Cleckheaton, Morley, Dewsbury and Ossett.

- By Train
- Batley Railway Station is located on Back Station Road and is approximately 0.8 miles away from the northern end of the route (Bus Station).

- There are limited Blue Badge and standard on street parking bays on St James Street, Branch Road, Commercial Street and surrounding side roads.
- There is no charge for these parking bays.
- Parking is limited to 60 minutes for non-Blue Badge holders.
- Blue Badge holders may park in any of the bays for a maximum of 3 hours.

Batley Bus Station to Branch Road via St James Street
- The surface of the pathways on both sides of the road in this section are paving stones, concrete, tarmac and block paving.
- The pathways on both sides are wide.
- The pathway has a slight uphill slope as you leave the bus station, becoming a steep uphill slope as you head towards Branch Road.
- There are some uneven areas on the pathways throughout this section.
- There are some obstructions along the pavement on both sides such as signs, litter bins, lampposts and signboards.
- There are several side roads and access roads along the section to cross, with some of these having dropped kerbs and tactile paving on one side.
- There is a zebra crossing opposite Batley Bus Station, which has dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both side but does not have the flashing orange lights.

Junction – St James Street, Branch Street and Henrietta Street
- There are several crossing points at this junction to cross St James Street, Branch Street and Henrietta Street.
- All the crossings have dropped kerbs, none have tactile paving on both sides.
- The surface of the roads is concrete and tarmac.
- The surface of the pathways is paving stones.
- There is level access at these crossings.
- There are some obstructions along the pavement on both sides such as signs bins and signboards.
- Traffic is busy at this junction and multi-directional.
St James Street to Commercial Street via Branch Road
- The surface of the pathways on both sides of the road in this section are paving tiles.
- The pathways on both sides are wide in places but narrow due to obstacles. The pathways are still more than 120cm as you navigate around street obstacles.
- The pathway has a very slight uphill slope leading from St James Street towards Commercial Street until you reach the junction on Commercial Street where it becomes a slight uphill slope.
- The pathway is mainly paving slabs throughout.
- There are some uneven areas on the pathways throughout this section.
- There are some obstructions along the pavement on both sides such as street signs, telephone boxes and litter bins.
- The surface of the road is tarmac.
- There is limited on-street parking available along this section, on the left side in direction of travel from St James Street towards Commercial Street.

Junction – Branch Road, Commercial Street and Upper Commercial Street
- There are several crossing points at this junction to cross Branch Road, Commercial Street and Upper Commercial Street.
- There is a zebra crossing on Upper Commercial Street Opposite Well Pharmacy, which has dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides.
- All the crossings have dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides.
- The surface of the roads is tarmac.
- The surface of the pathways is paving tiles.
- There is a slight downhill slope leading from the crossings into Branch Road.
- There are some obstructions along the pavement on both sides such as signs, bins and signboards.

Branch Road to Market Square/Town Hall via Commercial Street

- The pathway has a slight uphill slope leading from Branch Road along Commercial Street.

Junction – Market Square/Town Hall and Commercial Street
- There is a pelican pedestrian crossing point at this junction to cross Commercial Street opposite the Town Hall and Halifax Building Society.
- This crossing has audibled and visual signals and rotating cones underneath the controls for visually impaired users.
- The controls and buttons are between 75cm and 120cm in height.
