Introduction

Ground Floor Classroom

The width of the doorway is 83cm with a single opening and 166cm with both doors open. There are glass doors immediately beyond the wooden doors. They are double doors with one permanently locked. The opening width is 77cm. The glass door opens outwards and inwards and may be difficult to open.
  • To enter the classroom, you immediately turn right to a door with an opening of 86cm. This door opens towards you and may be difficult to open.
  • There is level access throughout the classroom with sufficient space for a wheelchair user.
  • Tables are not permanently placed and have an underside height of 63cm.
  • There are chairs with and without armrests.
  • Flooring is tiled brickwork which has a repeating pattern but is unlikely to appear wet or a visual hazard.
  • There is an exit door in the classroom with a width of 85cm leading to the courtyard. There is stepped access at this exit.

First Floor Classroom

  • The first floor classroom is accessed via a door in the courtyard, to the left as you exit the gift shop. There is insufficient space for a wheelchair to manoeuvre in this section. The width of the pathway is 88cm - 151cm and is obstructed by bench seating. The steps are at a height of 15cm.
  • There are 10 steps leading to a landing, with a height of 17cm. From the landing, there are 5 more steps at a height of 17cm.
  • The door into the classroom opens towards you and may be difficult to open. The width of the opening is 83cm.
  • Tables are not permanently fixed in position and have an underside height of 66cm.
  • Chairs are not permanently fixed and do not have armrests.
  • There is a small kitchen area with units at a height of 88cm. There are two sinks with hot and cold taps which are twist.

  • Flooring is carpet tiles with no contrasting patterns. There is vinyl flooring in the kitchen area.
  • There is a door leading to two male and female toilets. the door opens both ways and is easy to open with a width of 84cm.
  • Gender inclusive and female toilets are on the left and have doors openings of 74cm. The doors have lever handles and may be difficult to open.

The Barn Function Room

  • Access to the function room is via the courtyard which has sloped access with some areas on uneven surfaces. There is a ramp on the threshold of the barn. The door is held open during events. The width of the door is 96cm. There are bifold doors which are open during events, giving an opening width of 290cm.
  • Tables and chairs are not permanently fixed and are organised according to events. Flooring is stone, there are no contrasting patterns.
  • There is a door leading to the bar area with a width of 80cm. The door is held open during events. Beyond the door is a step down into the bar area. There is a level access entrance to the bar via the courtyard.
  • Access to the bar is via an external entrance in the courtyard, opposite the visitor centre gift shop. There is sloped access with uneven surfaces leading to the external entrance to the bar. There is a covered entrance to the door to the bar with a width of 115cm. The door into the bar opens away from you and may be difficult to open, but the door is held open during events. The door has a width of 96cm. Flooring in the bar area is stone and has a slight uneven surface. The bar is at a height of 103cm. There are no menus available. There is stepped access into the barn function area at a height of 14cm. The step is clearly marked. The door has a width of 80cm and opens away from you. It is held open during events.

Courtyard Seating Area

  • Access to the seating area is via the courtyard which has sloped access with some areas on uneven surfaces.
