Getting To The Hospital (Chorley and South Ribble Hospital)

  • By Road View
    • Chorley and South Ribble Hospital is located on Preston Road. The hospital can be accessed via the M61 to the east, by taking exit 8 onto the A674. Then take the 1st exit at the roundabout onto the A6 and proceed onto Preston Road. The hospital will be on the left.
      Or the hospital can be accessed via the M6 to the north-west, by taking exit 28 exit onto the B5256. Then proceed along Wigan Road that is on the right until you reach Euxton Lane on the left. Proceed on Euxton Lane, going straight at the roundabout. The hospital will be on the right. For the sat nav location enter PR7 1PP.
    • Patient and visitor car parking is available within car parks, B, K, N, which are located at the front of or on the left side of the hospital grounds. There are clearly marked Blue Badge bays located beside the hospital entrances. Blue Badge parking is free, but a permit must be obtained from the General Office that is within the lobby of the hospitals main entrance.
  • By Bus View
    • There are several bus stops located on Euxton Lane and Preston Road. The services provided at these bus stops include the 114, 119, 125C, 125 Gold, 415, 727, 780, 786, and 787.
    • There is an onsite bus stop.
    • The hospital has an onsite bus stop located at the front of the hospital grounds, beside the Assessment and Treatment Centre entrance.
    • The onsite bus stop is sheltered and has benched seating available.
    • To reach the desired entrance from the bus stop there are road crossings. There may be a slight slope on the approach.
  • By Train View
    • The nearest train station is Chorley. The station is located along Chapel Street and is approximately 1.7 miles from the hospital.

Getting Help and Assistance

  • The assistance dog toilet or toileting area is located throughout the hospital grounds, dependent on where the patient is.

  • BSL interpreters can be provided on request.
  • Language interpreters can be provided on request.
  • Language interpreters can be provided in the following languages; language interpreters can provided by the hospitals two contracted companies. It can be provided via face to face, telephone or video.
  • A mobility scooter charging point is not available at the hospital.
  • Mobility aids are available to help patients move around and include; wheelchairs, walking frames, walking sticks, mobile hoists, hoist slings, adjustable beds and crutches.

  • Accessible toilet facilities are located directly ahead as you enter the hospital via the main entrance, to the right as you exit the Assessment and Treatment Centre entrance lobby, to the right as you exit the lift 1 lobby on level 3 of the hospital and to the right as you exit lift 5 on level 4 of the hospital.
  • Female standard toilet facilities are located directly ahead as you enter the hospital via the main entrance, along the corridor on the right at the four-way junction on level 3 and to the right as you exit lift 5 on level 4 of the hospital.
  • Male standard toilet facilities are located directly ahead as you enter the hospital via the main entrance.
  • Shared standard toilet facilities are located on level 2 of the Lancashire Eye Centre and to the left of lift 5 on level 3 of the hospital.
  • Parent and baby changing facilities are located on level 3 of the hospital, on the left side of the corridor as you enter via the Preston Road entrance.
