    • The Customer Service Centre is located straight ahead as you enter from the Main Entrance on Brixton Hill.
      To enter the area, there is a single width automatic door, 106cm wide, which opens away from you and has poor colour contrast with the surrounding glass panels (photograph 2).
      To exit the area, there is a similar door with identical specifications (photograph 3).
    • Customers wait for their appointment until a member of staff calls out their number.
      The service counter takes the form of a number of booths, all of which have desks at a height of 76cm and seating with armrests on both sides (photographs 4-8). Staff can move this seating if required, giving wheelchair users room to manoeuvre in these booths.
    • There are also self-service desks available within the Customer Service Centre (detailed in another section of this guide).
    • There is a corridor off the Customer Service Centre leading to a range of private meeting rooms (photograph 9). These can be booked by staff as required.
    • The Customer Service Centre contains a calm booth equipped with padded seating, sensory lighting and plants. There are two seats, both of which have armrests on both sides. This booth has an opening width of 143cm and enough space for a wheelchair user to park and turn. It is available for use whenever needed (photographs 10-12).
    • The Customer Service Centre also contains an accessible flat floor children’s play area with low level wall toys and sensory flooring tiles (photographs 13-14). There are also fixed low level children’s toys throughout the building.

Counter (Self-Service - Customer Service Centre)

  • The counter is 18m (19yd 2ft) from the ground floor main entrance.
  • There is level access to the counter from the entrance.

    • The self-service counter takes the form of a number of booths with desks, approximately half of which are equipped with computers.
    • All seats at the desks have armrests on both sides.
    • Most of the desks are fixed at a height of 75cm, however there are also two height-adjustable desks available, one of which has a computer. All computers are equipped with Dolphin SuperNova keyboards.

Meeting Rooms

  • There are meeting rooms on the ground floor, diagonally to the left as you enter the Customer Service Centre.
  • These rooms are accessed via manual, heavy, double doors (with one leaf locked), which have an opening width of 100cm.
  • The door can only be accessed with a fob from a member of staff.
  • An example meeting room has a manual glass door that opened inwardly and had a width of 88cm. Chairs with and without armrests were available and the table height was 73cm.
  • There is an exit button located at 117cm from the floor.

Accessible Toilet (Right Hand Transfer)
