- The Arrival Garden forms part of the open air Sussex Place Quadrangle.
- The Garden is accessible from Sussex Place, near the North Building, or internally from within the Ratcliffe or Plowden Buildings.

Entrance (from Sussex Place)
- This entrance is located at the end of Sussex Place, next to the North Building.
- There are 2 access points here.
- The entrance area is not clearly signed.
- There is not a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
- There is step-free access via a very easy slope at the entrance.
- There is an opening without doors.
- The width of the opening is 300cm.
- The left-hand entrance is width restricted to 102cm.
- There is step-free level access as you enter.
Entrance (from Plowden Building - E Wing)
- This entrance is located off the main covered entrance to the Plowden Building E Wing.
- The entrance area is not clearly signed.
- There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is an opening without doors.
- The width of the opening is 192cm.
- There are also numerous similar entrances off the covered walkway near the entrances to Plowden Building C Wing and D Wing.
Entrance (from Plowden Building)
- This entrance is located off the main covered entrance to the Plowden Building, to the left of the start of the covered walkway to the Ratcliffe Building.
- The entrance area is not clearly signed.
- There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There is an opening without doors.
- The width of the opening is 189cm.
Entrance (from Ratcliffe Building)
- This entrance is located off the main covered entrance to the Ratcliffe Building, to the right of the start of the covered walkway to the Plowden Building.
- The entrance area is not clearly signed.
- There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- The width of the opening is 173cm.
- There is stepped access as you enter.
- There are 6 steps with handrails on both sides.
- The handrails are easy to grip.
- The handrails cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
- The handrails extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
- The steps are clearly marked.
- The steps have tactile markings at the top and bottom.
- The height of the steps is between 15cm and 18cm .
- The height of the highest step is 15cm.
- The depth of the steps is between 30cm and 45cm.
- There are similar steps near the entrance to the Ratcliffe Building A Wing.
Outdoor Spaces (Arrival Gardens)
- The following is available in this area: gardens.
- Outdoor areas consist of grass and bonded gravel.
- There are footpaths throughout.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access throughout all areas.
- The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: the path next to the covered walkway between Ratcliffe House and the Plowden Building has a slope with a very easy gradient.
- There are some seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
- There is tiered seating along the front of the Ratcliffe Building.
