Access To
- The Plowden Lounge is located within the Plowden Building, on the right after the main entrance.

- The most accessible route has step-free level access.
- There is written text signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access in the Lounge.
- There is a single automatic door which opens by sliding.
- The width of the opening is 133cm.
- The door has a low visual contrast.
- There is a push pad or push button to exit at a height of 130cm.
- There are also numerous external entrances into the Plowden Lounge off the Quadrangle between the Plowden Building and the Ratcliffe Building.
- There are single manual doors which open towards you.
- The width of the openings is 92cm.
- There is a push pad or push button to exit at a height of 128cm.
- There are short slight or steep slopes at the thresholds of these doorways.
- There is level access at the external entrance nearest the service counter.

- This area has a counter where food and drink can be ordered, self service counters, staff who can provide assistance with ordering and designated seating.
- Full table service is not available.
- Menus are available on a board, digital and displayed on the counter.
- The following dietary requirements can be catered for: gluten free, dairy free, lactose free, nut allergy, vegetarian and vegan.
- The following are available: drinking straws, takeaway cups and takeaway cutlery.
- There is not a hearing assistance system.

- Furniture available in this area includes: tables, coffee tables and high tables.
- Some chairs and tables are fixed.
- The surface height of the tables is suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear height under the tables is suitable for wheelchair users.
- There is no (or very little) background noise in this area.
- Lighting levels vary due to the size of the space.
- There is additional seating on the level 1.
- There is only stepped access to the level 1 seating area from within the Lounge.
- Step-free access to the level 1 seating area is available via the main lifts.
