Tower Block Main Entrance to Security Barriers

  • Enter through the single, automatic door at the front of the Tower Block.
  • The width of the door is 100cm.
  • The automatic door opens away from you.
  • The height of the bell buzzer is 119cm and the height of the card reader is 104cm.
  • There is a slight slope in front of the entrance.
  • To the far right of the security barriers is the accessible security barrier.
  • The width of the security barrier is 94cm and the card reader height is 100cm.
  • There is a slight slope in front of the security barrier.
  • The flooring is tiled and has a very shiny finish which could cause issues with glare or be perceived as slippery.
  • The lighting level is good.

Security Barriers to Courtyard Entrance

  • As you enter through the security barriers, continue ahead towards the stair case and turn right.
  • Follow the corridor and enter through two sets of manual, double doors that are permanently held open.
  • The width of the first set of doors is 138cm and the width of the second set of doors is 181cm.
  • Continue ahead passing the café which is on the left hand side.
  • Take a left before the staircase and the entrance to the courtyard is ahead.
  • There are two sets of double automatic doors to enter the courtyard.
  • The width of the first set of doors is 153cm and the width of the second set is 148cm.
  • There is a steep ramp/slope beyond the second set of doors that does not have any handrails.
  • The width of the ramp/slope is 176cm.
  • The flooring is tiled, vinyl/laminate and has a very shiny finish which could cause issues with glare or be perceived as slippery.

Outside Access (Courtyard Entrance from Blue Met Lounge - Door 2)

  • As you enter the Courtyard continue straight ahead for approximately 35m.

  • at the end of the courtyard turn right and head down the steep ramp/slope.
  • The ramp/slope has handrails on each side.
  • The minimum width of the ramp/slope is 143cm.
  • At the bottom of the ramp/slope continue ahead for approximately 26m until you reach the entrance to the Roding Building.

Other Floors (Stair 8)

    • Stairs can be used to access other floors.
    • The stairs are located in the corridor to the left as you enter Courtyard Entrance 8, and then on the right.
    • The stairs are approximately 32m from the Courtyard Entrance 8.
    • Signs indicating the location of the stairs are clearly visible from the entrance.
    • There are manual, heavy, double doors to enter and exit the stairwell on the second floor and on the ground floor.
    • There is a manual single door to enter and exit the stairwell on the first floor.
    • The floors which are accessible by stairs are G, 1, and 2.
    • There are 15+ steps between floors.
    • The height of the step(s) is/are between the recommended 15cm and 18cm.
    • The height of the step(s) is/are 15cm.
    • The depth of the step(s) is/are not between the recommended 30cm and 45cm.
    • The steps are clearly marked.

Roding Building Entrance to Room TM3-03

  • As you enter, the lift is immediately on the right hand side.
  • Take the lift to the third floor of the Roding Building and on exiting the lift there are double, manual doors on the right hand side to exit the lift lobby.
  • The manual, double doors open away from you (Push) and have a width of 141cm.
  • Exit the lift lobby and continue along the corridor for approximately 32m.
  • The flooring is vinyl/laminate and has a very shiny finish which could cause issues with glare or be perceived as slippery.
  • At the end of the corridor is a steep ramp/slope that has no handrails.
  • Continue up the ramp/slope and head through three sets of manual, double doors that are permanently held open.
  • The width of the doors in order are 121cm, 133cm and 130cm.
  • There is a steep ramp/slope beyond the third set of doors.
  • At the top of the ramp/slope turn left onto the carpet and room TM3-03 is ahead.
  • The carpet has bold repeating patterns which could be mistaken for steps.
  • The classroom doors open towards you (Pull) and have a width of 160cm.
  • The lighting level is moderate to good.
