• There is stepped access from Exit 6 at Waterloo Station. This exit leads onto Southbank Place. The approximate distance of this route from Exit 6 is 300m.

• There is step-free access along this route (from Exit 3 only).
• The potential hazards on this route include congested pathways, a crossing with no visual signals, and a busy road crossing with visual signals.

Station Approach to York Road Pedestrian Crossing

• After exiting London Waterloo turn left and follow the path along Station Approach for approximately 170m to the bottom of Station Approach.
• The route along the path is step-free.
• The surface of the path is tarmac.
• There are bus stop shelters along the route which may reduce the width of the path.
• There are two sets of bollards located outside the Victory Arch entrance to London Waterloo.
• The bollards have a clear identification band.
• The minimum width between the bollards is 110cm.
• The path crosses an access road.
• The crossing has a dropped kerb with tactile paving on both sides.
• There is a pedestrian crossing with no visual signals to the opposite side of Station Approach and the York Road pedestrian crossing.

York Road Pedestrian Crossing

• York Road Pedestrian Crossing has dropped kerbs with tactile paving on both sides.
• There are visual signals available at this crossing.
• The visual signals are activated via push buttons.
• There are rotating cones located at the bottom of the push button boxes to indicate when it is safe to cross.

York Road Pedestrian Crossing to Southbank Place

• After completing the crossing turn left and follow York Road for approximately 70m until you reach the turning onto Southbank Place.
• There is step-free access along the route.
• The surface of the path is flagstone/block paving.
• There are two sets of bollards outside the York Road access point to Waterloo Underground Station.
• The bollards have clear identification bands.
• The minimum width between the bollards is 105cm.
• After the path passes the underground station turn right onto Southbank Place.

• Southbank Place is pedestrianised.
• The surface of the flooring is flagstone/block paving.
• There are rows of trees located down the centre of the path.
• The crossing over Belvedere Road has no pedestrian crossing point.
• The crossing is level with the road.
• There is tactile paving on both sides of the road.

Jubilee Gardens to Queen's Walk

• After completing the crossing turn left and follow the path to the entrance of Jubilee Gardens.
• Follow the path through the gardens for approximately 180m until you reach Queen's Walk.
• There is step-free access along the paths.
• There are some slight and very slight slopes along the paths in places.
• The surface of the paths is brick paving.
• There is fixed bench seating with armrests along the path.
