Getting To The Hospital (Northern Manchester General Hospital)

  • By Road View
    • North Manchester General Hospital is located off Delaunays Road, Crumpsall. Follow signs from the A576 Middleton Road. Alternatively travel along the A664 Rochdale Road, turning onto Middleton Old Road, then onto Old Market Street until it becomes Delaunays Road. Access to the hospital site is also available off Crescent Road and Charminster Drive. The postcode for the sat-nav is M8 5RB.
    • The hospital has four building entrances, the Main Entrance on Crumpsall Way, Entrance 1 opposite Car Park 1, Entrance 3 (The Quad) and Entrance 4 both off Central Drive. Accident and Emergency has its own entrance off Central Drive. Patient and visitor parking areas are identified by green signage and are numbered 1 to 4. These numbers relate to the entrance they are nearest to. The nearest parking area for Accident and Emergency is Patient and Visitor Car Park 2. Drop off/pick up areas (orange signs) and some further small areas of patient and visitor parking, plus some Blue Badge parking are located near to the Main Entrance, Entrance 1 and Entrance 3 and some departments within the site itself. For Park House there are Blue Badge bays directly in front of the unit. The nearest main car park is Car Park 2.
  • By Bus View
    • The hospital has good bus service links. The main bus services are the 42, 52, 53 and 118 with a further seven bus services serving numerous locations.
    • There is an onsite bus stop.
    • The main bus stop is located outside the main entrance of the hospital and there are several other smaller bus stops around the site located on Central Drive.
    • The main entrance bus stop is a glass shelter with bench seating set at 43cm high. There is space for a wheelchair to wait in the shelter although space is limited.
    • The route to the main entrance from the bus shelter could be difficult without assistance. There are obstacles such as Bus stop signposts and waste bins. There is a road to cross with dropped curbs to get to the main hospital entrance. There are small slight slopes on the route to the hospital main entrance from the bus stop. The distance is approximately 40 metres from the bus stop to the hospital main entrance.
