  • There are more than 10 Blue Badge parking bays.
  • The nearest Blue Badge bay is 15m from the visitor reception.
  • Obstacles from the car park include: cobbles, a lack of pedestrian walkways to cross the car park and uneven surfaces.

Visitor Reception

  • There is step-free level access into the area.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the door opening is 85cm.
  • There is step-free level access around the area.
  • The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
  • There is room for wheelchair users to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm) throughout the area.
  • Some of the flooring is smooth and even.
  • Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to carpet.
  • Some of the flooring has a very shiny finish, which could cause issues with glare or look slippery to some people.
  • There is step-free level access to the counter.
  • The height of the counter is 83cm.
  • The counter has windows, TVs, glazed screens or mirrors which could adversely affect the ability of someone to lip read.

  • The steep ramp is over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There are double manual gates which are permanently open.
  • The width of the opening is 213cm.
  • The ramp is on the main path just beyond the entrance gates.

Toilet with Adaptations (Visitor Reception and Shop - Ambulant - Left Hand Transfer)

  • This toilet is located in the block to the left of the entrance gates which houses the visitor reception and shops, next to the small shop.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • This toilet is approximately 15m from the visitor reception entrance gates.
  • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 85cm.
  • The door has a twist lock.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 140cm x 194cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the seat.
  • The lateral transfer space is 61cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
  • There is a lever flush on the transfer side.
  • The following grab rails are available: a horizontal grab rail on the door, a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side, a vertical grab rail on the transfer side and a vertical rail on the left side of the wash basin.

  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the door opening is 103cm.
  • The height of the baby change table is 74cm.
  • The wash basin tap type is lever.
  • There is a chair with armrests and a chair without armrests available in the room.
  • Waste bins include: a nappy bin and a general waste bin with lid.
