Route to (Bookshop)
- Follow the path to the right once you have exited the visitor reception.
Once you reach the road turn right and follow it until you come across a path with two bollards.
Continue down that path to the main property gates.
Proceed through the gates and continue ahead and the farmyard entrance will be on the right, just before the east wing.
After passing through the entrance, continue up the stairs or ramp to the farmyard, the bookshop entrance is ahead of you. - The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are concrete and gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and magnifying glass.

- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: off-road/all-terrain mobility scooters. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance.

Shop
- Access into the shop is via steep ramps/slopes.
- The ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- The door is manual, opens outwards and has a medium colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 72cm.
- Internally the door has a medium colour contrast.
- The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
- All flooring in the shop is smooth and even.
- Some of the flooring has a very shiny finish, which could cause issues with glare or look slippery to some people.
- There is step-free level access around some of the shop.
- Access around the shop is via steps.
- There is no (or very little) background noise here.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 83cm.
- The counter has a clearly signed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system was tested and working at the time of the survey.
- Services/facilities available in the shop include: a portable card machine for payment and a member of staff to provide assistance.
