Route to (Parterre)

  • Follow the path to the right as you exit the visitor reception. Once you reach the road turn right and follow it until you come across a path with two bollards. Continue down that path to the main property gates. Once through the gates continue ahead and the entrance is the second door on the side of the east wing on the right.
  • The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope.
  • Path surfaces along the route are concrete and gravel.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is no accessible shuttle to this area.

Equipment and Resources to Borrow

  • You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
  • Sensory packs can be borrowed which include: ear defenders, fidget toys and magnifying glass.

Outdoor Spaces

  • This information is for the access point located in front and to the right of Blickling Hall.
  • Access into the area is via steep ramps/slopes.
  • The ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide, with no handrails.
  • There is a gate at the surveyed access point which opens towards you (pull).
  • The gate is not self-closing.
  • The width of the gap is 87cm.
  • The following outdoor facilities are available: formal gardens.
  • The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: loose stones.
  • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.
  • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
  • There is step-free level access around the area.
  • There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

Toilet with Adaptations (Parterre - Ambulant - Right Hand Transfer)

  • This toilet is located to the left of the Parterre entrance.
  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • This toilet is approximately 6m from the stables entrance.

  • The door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
