About Bodiam Castle - National Trust

    Accessibility Overview

Located in the East Sussex countryside, Bodiam Castle features a Visitor Reception, shops, tearoom, picnic areas, Castle, exhibition space, and parkland with hike/trail routes.

There is car parking on site, with designated bays for Blue Badge holders near to the Visitor Reception.

The estate offers toilet facilities with adaptations for disabled people, which can be found next to the tearoom.

The second-hand bookshop, exhibition space, tearoom and tearoom picnic area all have step-free level access into and throughout. The Castle offers step-free level access into it and through some areas. Other points of interest are accessed via ramps/slopes or steps.

Some main routes around the property have ramps/slopes and uneven surfaces, so an accessible shuttle is available to take visitors to the Castle and parkland entrance.  Manual wheelchairs can also be borrowed from the Visitor Reception. The National Trust recommends booking these in advance.
