Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: a tramper. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.

- There are charges to borrow a tramper.
- The tramper can be borrowed from Visitor Welcome and is run by Countryside Mobility.
You can get a yearly membership for £10. Members can hire for free.
There is an option for a two week taster membership for £2.50.
Route to (the Higher Paddock Play Area)
- Exit the Visitor Welcome and take the paved path to the right.
Turn left off the tarmac path. Turn right through the open gateway and turn right again down a sloped path. Keep going straight through an open gate and over a crossroads.
Go through another gate on the path. Turn left with the path until you come to the entrance to the Higher Paddock Play Area. - The route to the area is step-free via a steep ramp/slope and includes up to 3 steps without a handrail.
- Path surfaces along the route are tarmac, gravel, muddy, cobbles and paving stones.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is no accessible shuttle to this area.
- There is one small step down at the open gate ahead of the crossroads.
Outdoor Spaces
- This information is for the access point located along the Drake 'red' Walk.
- There is step-free level access into the area.
- There is a gate at the surveyed access point which opens towards you (pull).
- The gate is not self-closing.
- The width of the gap is 105cm.
- The following outdoor facilities are available: a grassed play area.
- The outdoor spaces include the following surfaces: wood bark and compact earth.
- Footpaths are available in some of the outdoor space.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There are slight ramps/slopes without handrails in the main areas .
- The whole play area is on a slight slope.
- There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.

- The gate is easy to open but does not have a high colour contrast with the fence.
- There is a route around the play equipment which is not firm and even, but is over 150cm wide.
