    About Carrick-a-Rede - National Trust

    Accessibility Overview

Sitting to the north of County Antrim on the Irish coastline, Carrick-a-Rede features a Visitor Reception, tearoom, picnic area, historical quarry, coastline hike/trail routes, and rope bridge access to Carrick-a-Rede Island. Pre-booking to cross the bridge is essential.

There is car parking on site, with designated bays for Blue Badge holders.

The site offers toilet facilities with adaptations for disabled people, which can be found near to the car park.

The Visitor Reception offers step-free level access into and throughout it. Other points of interest are accessed via ramps/slopes, steps, or rope bridge.

Routes around the site have steep ramps/slopes and steps, and very uneven natural surfaces. Mobility equipment/scooters are not available to borrow or hire. A manual wheelchair is available for hire. Please speak to a member of staff for more details. Sensory packs are available to borrow from the Visitor Reception. The National Trust recommends booking these in advance.

Please view our Detailed Access Guides below to find out further details, including measurements and photographs.
